E3 2018: Fortnite Coming To Switch Very Soon, Chance The Rapper Says
Fortnite coming to Nintendo Switch is a rumour that is building steam, and that continues still. Amid all the E3 2018 news today, Chance the Rapper tweeted that he apparently expects Epic's popular battle royale game to launch on Nintendo's hybrid console tomorrow, June 11.
That more than likely won't happen, however, as the game hasn't even been announced for Switch yet. Nintendo's E3 2018 briefing is slated for the morning of Tuesday, June 12, so check back then to see if Nintendo and Epic have anything to say about bringing the game to Switch. In the meantime, players who already have access can check out a new update .
Fortnite on Switch tmw
— Chance The Rapper (@chancetherapper) June 11, 2018
Recently, a ratings board in Korea listed Fortnite for Switch , while files from the game have reportedly already been uploaded to the Eshop . All of this suggests that an announcement and potential release for the Switch is coming up soon.
Fortnite is one of the biggest games on the dear planet Earth right now, so it makes sense that Epic would want to extend its reach even further. Fortnite runs quite well on mobile, so even though the Switch isn't as powerful as the PS4 or Xbox One, it could still offer a solid experience. One potential issue, however, is that voice chat on Switch is currently a bit of a headache. If you're playing with friends, that could pose a problem if you like to communicate.
Check back on June 12 to watch the Nintendo E3 briefing here on GameSpot. We'll also have a liveblog and a blow-by-blow rundown of the show in our liveblog .

The 15 biggest wealth managers in the world
Dan Kitwood/Getty
The private wealth management industry had a strong year in 2017 with 25 of the leading global players increasing their assets under management (AUM) by almost 14%, as the number of high net-worth individuals and affluent investors has continued to grow.
UBS tops the rankings with $2,402.8 billion AUM, over double that of its closest rival. China Merchants Bank also entered the top 10 in 2017 and was the first Chinese bank ever to do so.
Much of this success is the result of greater wealth across the Asia-Pacific region and growing interest in professional management by the high-net worth individuals there. This meant Chinese growth was about 3.5% higher then the rest of the top wealth managers, according to the research by GlobalData and Private Banker International.
Deutsche Bank, EFG International and ABN Amro were the only wealth managers in the ranking to lose ground in 2017.
15. The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) - $206 billion Today Online
One of China's "big four" state owned banks, ICBC is considered to be the largest bank and public company in the world by assets, with a private wealth management arm that ranks 15th in the world for AUM and climbing.

14. Wells Fargo - $248 billion Washington Post
The San Francisco-headquartered bank has a prominent wealth management arm and remains one of the biggest names in US banking.

13. Deutsche Bank Wealth Management - $256.8 billion loop_oh via http://www.flickr.com/photos/loop_oh/94606523/ creative commons
The 17th largest bank in the world by total assets, wealth management is one of three pillars of Deutsche Bank's (DB) business. DB's wealth management arm is one of the few in this ranking to lose ground on AUM in 2017, giving the leadership more bad news to handle.

Best Buy might have accidentally revealed that Netflix and Hulu video streaming is coming to the Nintendo Switch
Best Buy may have accidentally leaked that Hulu, YouTube, and Netflix compatibility for the Nintendo Switch could be coming to the Nintendo Switch. A listing for the game console on Best Buy's website describes the console as being "Smart enabled," a feature that Nintendo had not yet announced. The new compatibility was likely to be announced tomorrow morning at Nintendo's press conference as part of the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo.
A product listing on Best Buy's online store may have accidentally revealed new video streaming capabilities, including partnerships with Netflix, Hulu and YouTube, coming to the Nintendo Switch console.
If the feature is indeed being introduced to the Switch, it was likely intended to be announced at Nintendo's press conference scheduled for Tuesday at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.  See the rest of the story at Business Insider

Netflix and YouTube might be coming to your Nintendo Switch soon

Eagle-eyed Redditor, DevCakes, has spotted that BestBuy listed Netflix and YouTube (alongside the already released Hulu) as available on the Nintendo Switch. It has since been removed, but you can check out the original screenshot here: Hulu has been available on the Switch since November 2017, but unless you live in the US or Japan, you can’t use it. Even if you live in the one of those markets, Netflix and YouTube are far more popular platforms. This news – which we dearly hope is true – really should’ve happened some time ago. With many people using their games consoles as entertainment devices,…

Nintendo Switch is likely to get Netflix and YouTube after all
One of the most glaring holes in the Nintendo Switch feature set, video streaming, may finally be closed, judging by a slip-up in an updated Best Buy product listing for the console.
Business Insider scoped the listing (seen below) for a Nintendo Switch bundle that includes a microSD card, which beneath directly name drops support for Netflix and YouTube.
The listing reads, “Get access to a world of instant entertainment with this product. Just connect to the Internet and stream movies, listen to music, and access a wide variety of other content.”
These specific elements of the listing have since been removed .
Since this is not a leak from an unofficial source and was made public by Best Buy itself, it’s more than likely that these two streaming services are heading to the console.
Frankly, it wouldn’t be a surprise at this point for Nintendo to make the long-awaited announcement during its imminent E3 2018 press conference.
Shoring up the gaps
The Nintendo Switch isn’t exactly a stranger to streaming services, with Hulu having been available on the console since last November. So, perhaps it was only a matter of time for the product to gain Netflix and YouTube as well.
However, Nintendo sure has been dragging its feet on bringing a fuller offering of video content services, especially considering how easy it should be to bring these apps to the console. After all, the Switch is powered by an ARM-based processor and its operating system is based in part on Android.
Not only will this move shore up its gaps in content offerings, but it will bring the console closer in parity to its rivals in the gaming space much less the tablet world. Get your popcorn ready, because the Nintendo E3 2018 keynote starts at 12pm ET/5pm BST.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year
Nintendo announced today during its E3 press conference that celebrated anime brawler Dragon Ball FighterZ would be making its way to the Switch later this year. The game was first announced at E3 last year to much fanfare , and its gorgeous art style and intense action sequences made the experience look like the TV show was brought to life in the purest way possible.
When the game launched in January of this year, it was met with universal acclaim. In my experience playing it for the PlayStation 4 , I was shocked at how simultaneously accessible and deep the combat was. It was also just absurdly great to look at. Developer Arc System Works brought its knowledge and expertise from the Guilty Gear franchise to make the best DBZ game in...

E3 2018: New Nintendo Switch Demo Coming For Square RPG Octopath Traveler
The release of Square's Nintendo Switch RPG Octopath Traveler is imminent. But there's going to be another chance to try the game out prior to it's July 13 release. On June 14, right at the end of this year's E3 , Square Enix is making a new demo available.
While the developer didn't specify exactly what portion of the game this would encompass, it's likely to be both an introduction to the game and it's myriad mechanics. But it's also likely to be a relatively sizeable portion of the game. The last Octopath Traveler demo, which covered portions of the knight Olberic's and the dancer Primrose's tales, stretched across a couple hours.
Octopath Traveler combines old-school aesthetics with modern graphical flair, and it's likely to be a marquee RPG release this July. But that's not the only thing Nintendo has going up this week. Fortnite was announced and released the same day, and there are sure to be other Nintendo-related suprises throughout the week. E3 2018: New Nintendo Switch Game Daemon X Machina Revealed
Cel-shaded mechs battle it out over a futuristic city in the reveal trailer for a new game, which kicked off Nintendo's official E3 2018 presentation . Set against a heavy metal soundtrack, giant mechs battle with little regard for the innocent buildings beneath them in Daemon X Machina.
The reveal during Nintendo E3 2018 presentation was light on details, but based on the gameplay shown, it looks like the game will include some kind of co-op aspect. However, whether that will be online or purely local remains to be seen. You can watch the devastating action above where two mechs take on enemy swarms and menacing bosses.
Daemon X Machina is a collaboration between developers Marvelous and First Studio, with an array of credited Japanese developers. It's set to release sometime in 2019, but to keep up with more of what Nintendo has in store for the Switch, you can check out our press conference news roundup here.

Fortnite arrives on the Nintendo Switch today
After days of press conferences teasing games arriving in some time within the next decade, here’s a refreshing bit of news. As previously rumored , wildly popular sandbox survival game Fortnite is, indeed, coming to Nintendo Switch. Not only that, it’s available starting today as a free download from the Nintendo eShop.
Epic’s title will be available at 10AM PT today (a little under an hour from now), bringing the battle royale mode that has made it such a massive money maker on the PC, consoles and iOS, which arrived in March. An Android version of the title is also in the works for later this summer.
The game is a perfect fit for console. Nintendo’s long time focus on all ages entertainment certainly lines up with the title, which skews younger than many of the titles on display at the show this week, along with the (perhaps litigiously so ) similar Player Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG).
The battle royale game play means Switch players will be able to play against a gamers and the growing number of devices Fortnite is currently available for.

'Fortnite' is coming to Nintendo Switch today
Fortnite and its wildly popular Battle Royale mode arrive on Nintendo Switch Tuesday.
Nintendo revealed that Fortnite is coming to the Switch during its E3 showcase on Tuesday. As of Tuesday, the game is now on every home console, on iOS and Android, and on PC and Mac — a rare occurrence, especially for competitive online games.
This news was expected as a credible leak appeared about a week before E3, but Switch owners will undoubtably be happy to see the game finally join their platform of choice. Read more...

Fortnite launches on Nintendo Switch
It was rumored long before E3 2018 started, but now it’s been confirmed: Battle Royale hit Fortnite is coming to Nintendo Switch and it’s available on the Nintendo Switch eShop from today 10am PT/ 6pm BST.
Confirmed during Nintendo’s E3 Direct on June 12, it’s the Battle Royale version of the game that will be coming to Switch, rather than the full save the world mode. Even better than being released today, it’s going to be completely free.
Given that Fortnite: Battle Royale is already available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS and, soon, Android, creating a Nintendo Switch port makes a great deal of sense. Now those who haven't experienced the Battle Royale with friends will have the chance to do so.

At today’s Nintendo Direct, the Big N’s show for E3, the company announced Epic Games’ world-alteringly popular game Fortnite was coming to the Switch. That’s not unexpected. The rumor’s been circulating for a few weeks now, backed up by a leak from a Korean ratings board. Sony is blocking Fortnite cross-play between PS4 and Nintendo Switch players
Today, Nintendo announced during its E3 press conference that Epic Games’ smash hit Fortnite would be coming to the Switch console . Not only that, but the game is arriving today at 1PM ET on the Switch digital store. Given that Fortnite is a free-to-play game that is played entirely online and supports accounts syncing, that raises some interesting questions about whether Switch players will be able to cross-play with those on other platforms.
When asked, Epic Games PR representative Nick Chester confirmed on Twitter that the Switch version of Fortnite will support cross-play with Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile. Basically, you’ll be able to play with everyone but PlayStation 4 players. That aligns with past cross-play implementations...

Nintendo Switch finally leans into its niche at E3 2018: multiplayer anyhow, anywhere
Nintendo may have spent an inordinate amount of time detailing the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Switch console during its E3 2018 presentation, but if you read between the lines, today Nintendo Switch became the ultimate multiplayer console at long last.
Nearly every game that Nintendo showed off during its keynote either featured or focused on multiplayer, some of which even included playing on multiple consoles at once, like Super Mario Party. This new version of the game was shown allowing players to link up multiple Switch tablets to create custom game environments for a tank combat mini game.
However, Nintendo also looked outward to better fulfill this niche in 2018, with online shooter craze Fortnite hitting the console on the same day of its announcement – for free. Not to mention the indie arcade multiplayer battle craze you’ve never heard of, Killer Queen Black, is hitting consoles for the first time on Nintendo Switch.
All three of these games are mega popular and put a laser focus on playing with friends, whether that’s in your house, out with friends or online.
The core conceit cometh
After all, was this not how Nintendo pitched the console back in 2016 when it was first revealed? You honestly wouldn’t know it looking at the first year of the Switch’s life.
Sure, games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2 and Arms carried the multiplayer torch then – but, save for Mario Kart, the masses weren’t exactly flocking to those games. It’s the mainstream appeal that will drive Switch owners to whip out their console at the next party.
Of course, no game is better poised to make that happen than Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which simply screams this concept from top to bottom. Rest assured that this game will allow for multiplayer throwdowns no matter if your friends are in the same room or miles away.
Even the Pokemon Let’s Go games are focused on bringing friends together to play the game side by side. Every aspect of Pokemon is now compatible with local multiplayer – not just battles and trading.
It’s about time for Nintendo to truly lean into the core conceit of the console that it can’t seem to keep on the shelves. And, this laser focus on what makes the Nintendo Switch so compelling is bound to only drive more sales.
Frankly, between Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pokemon Let’s Go and Super Mario Party, I’m going to be bringing my Switch around a whole lot more than I have this past year to share with friends and family. It’s all the more exciting to know that I definitely won’t be alone.

E3 2018: Fortnite Switch Doesn't Include Save The World Mode
During Nintendo's E3 2018 press conference it was revealed that Fortnite: Battle Royale was heading to the Switch, and has been released today. However, Epic Games confirmed that Fortnite: Save The World will not be coming to Switch alongside the wildly popular Battle Royale mode. An Epic games representative told GameSpot, "We have no plans for Save the World on Switch."
Fortnite: Save the World is a co-op sandbox survival game that is available now in paid early access on console and PC. Battle Royale, meanwhile, is free-to-play.
Nintendo announced that Fortnite: Battle Royale would be live in the US from 10 AM PT on June 12. Unfortunately, the game is currently having matchmaking issues , likely due to the influx of players. As expected, the game includes co-op and you will be able to group up with friends.
Fortnite's move to Switch will be the game's second jump to a new platform this year. Earlier in the year, a mobile port was released that let players face off against PC opponents.
In other news, Epic has confirmed that Fortnite on Switch supports cross-play with the Xbox One, PC, and mobile editions--but not PlayStation 4. Keep checking back with GameSpot soon for more on Fortnite on Switch.

Fortnite won’t support cross-play between Nintendo Switch and PS4
As rumored, Fornite is coming to the Nintendo Switch . In fact, it’s arriving even earlier than we imagined, available today as a free download from the Nintendo eShop. The addition widens the play field for the title’s wildly popular gameplay. The Epic game is currently available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and iOS, in addition to the new Nintendo console.
And while cross-platform play has been the key to the battle royale mode, Sony’s long been a bit of a stick in the mud on this one. The Xbox One version, for instance, can be played with PC and iOS. Ditto for the PS4 version. But Xbox One and PS4 cross-play is a non-starter.
The Verge noted that the same appears to be the case with the Nintendo Switch version, a fact that TechCrunch has since verified with an Epic spokesperson. “Cross-play and cross progression on Switch work with Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile,” the company confirmed.
We’ve also reached out to both Nintendo and Sony on the matter, to see what the hang up is here. Sony certainly appears to be the sticking point on this one, at least from the outside. The company likely sees its own massive sales figures as a competitive advantage here. The PS4 topped 70 million units late last year, and while Microsoft doesn’t release figures for the Xbox One, Sony’s device is the pretty clear frontrunner.
Fortnite, meanwhile, has been a massive success in its own right. In April, it became the biggest free-to-play console game , a number that’s only going to increase with today’s addition of the Switch to the ranks. Later this summer, Android users will also be able to get their hands on the title.

Sony is blocking Fortnite cross-play on Nintendo Switch
Fortnite , the massive Battle Royale hit available on PS4, Xbox One, PC and iOS, found a new home at E3 2018 today: the Nintendo Switch
Any Nintendo Switch owner can now go onto the eShop and download Fortnite: Battle Royale for free right now. Console-quality free-for-alls on the road could make the Switch a popular choice with fans.
But many veteran Fortniters discovered an unpleasant surprise waiting for them when they tried to log into Switch with their old Epic Games accounts. No account previously linked to a PSN account can log in on a Switch console. Gamers who have tried have been met with a “Login failed” message.
“This Fortnite account is associated with a platform which does not allow it to operate on Switch,” the screen reads. “Neither the Fortnite website nor Epic Customer Service are able to change this. To play Fortnite on Switch, please create a new account.”
Even worse, PS4 owners can't solve the issue by unlinking from their PSN accounts, which apparently isn't permitted. Starting from scratch is the only solution Sony has permitted Epic Games to offer.
Frustrating to Fortnite fans
Sony, which has previously faced criticism for refusing to allow cross-play between PS4 gamers and Xbox One gamers for Fortnite matchmaking, evidently hasn’t softened its stance for Nintendo gamers either.
This essentially means that you must create a new account and lose all of your ranking progress to play on Switch. And Epic Games’ somewhat passive-aggressive error message makes it clear that it isn’t any happier about it than its fanbase.
Sony’s stubborn isolationism could ironically have the effect of convincing Fortnite fans to make the Switch (or Xbox) their primary Battle Royale console, since it allows them to play against a larger group of opponents without restrictions.
You need only look at Reddit and the Resetera forums to see the immediate backlash that has occurred, as excitement for Nintendo fun turned quickly to anger directed at Sony.
So far, Sony has issued no comment to this current controversy. It also has previously forbidden cross-play for Minecraft or Rocket League, while Microsoft and Nintendo allow it.

Fortnite now boasts 125 million users - teases $100 million Fortnite World Cup
It's not even a year old yet but Fortnite has amassed quite the following since launch. According to latest figures, it now has 125 million registered players and to celebrate this fact, it has released more details about its Fortnite World Cup, which comes with the massive total prize fund of $100 million .
Over the course of this year, Fortnite will be holding Fortnite World Cup Qualifiers and the idea is that this will culminate in the Fortnite World Cup in 2019.
The good thing about this tournament, is how much Epic Games is making it inclusive - everyone will be given a chance and everything will be determined on merit.
“This is for you, the players,” explains the blog post . “Qualifications for the Fortnite World Cup will be based on merit. Epic will not be selling teams or franchises, and won’t allow third-party leagues to do so either.”
Charity battle
At E3 2018 , there was a little preview of what’s to come with the tournament. It hosted a ProAm event in the Banc of California stadium, pairing 50 Twitch and YouTube personalities with 50 celebrities - all battling it out for a $3 million dollar charity prize pool.
This was all shown on a Twitch livestream (as well as to people in the full stadium). The stream was three hours long and, at points, there were over 700,00 people watching at once which is an impressive number. The tournament was eventually won by Fortnite superstar Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins.
Epic Games finally revealed this week that Fortnite is being made available for the Nintendo Switch . Unfortunately, though, crossplay has been blocked between the PS4 and Switch which has disappointed a number of users.
Quite rightly, Xbox has been capitalizing on this situation on Twitter.
Now, all we have to do is wait patiently for the game to be released on Android - once this happens, expect Fortnite’s numbers to balloon even more.

The World Cup starts on Thursday — these photos from around the world show why soccer is the world's most beloved game
Reuters/Stefano Rellandini
Soccer is the world's most popular and beloved sport, and it's played in virtually every corner of the world. Ahead of the 2018 World Cup , Reuters sent photographers around the globe to document the variety of ways people manage to play soccer. Soccer lovers play in the dirt, sand, and even snow, and the narrowest of city streets won't stop them from playing "the beautiful game."

The 2018 World Cup kicks off on Thursday, and soccer fans around the world are eagerly counting down the hours.
Of course, soccer's popularity extends far beyond the 32 countries that qualified for the World Cup this year. Soccer is by far the most popular sport in the world, with an estimated 4 billion fans on all six inhabited continents.
Reuters sent photographers to dozens of countries in May and June to document soccer as it's played around the world — on dirt fields in Chile, the chaotic streets of Kolkata, India, and even a floating field in Thailand.
Here are 18 photos that show why soccer is the world's most popular game.

E3 2018: All The Nintendo Switch Games Revealed At Nintendo Direct

Nintendo Direct caps off E3 's press conferences every year, and this year the company unveiled a packed presentation full of games that are sure to get many people excited. Of course, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate took much of the attention; every single character that has ever appeared in a Super Smash Bros. game--from the original 12 characters featured in the Nintendo 64 games, all the way up to the latest DLC characters made released for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U--will be included as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
There were other big titles, like mini-game favorite Super Mario Party, the first new game in the series in three years, along with Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Mega Man 11, FIFA 19, and Overcooked 2. There are a lot of ports on the way, too. Dragon Ball FighterZ, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Paladins, and Dark Souls Remastered all made it into this year's Nintendo Direct.
Then there was Fornite: Battle Royale. We knew the game was likely coming to Nintendo Switch, but Nintendo dropped a big surprise today by announcing the game was not only releasing on Switch, but that it would be available right away. While the game suffered some matchmaking issues immediately after launch, Epic says they have been ironed out and you are now able to play successfully. In our experience, it runs decently well, although it's not quite the optimal way to play. If your only concern is being able to do so from bed without pulling out your phone, though, it's just the ticket.
There were many other games announced during Nintendo Direct. Click through above to check them all out, and then catch up on every announcement from the event in our Nintendo E3 news recap .
