Cheap laptop deals of the week
We'll continue adding the best laptop deals in the latest sales as we find them. Up next, you'll find the latest prices on some of the most popular laptops around, followed by the best deals on TechRadar's favourite laptops.
Where to find the best laptop deals: Amazon laptop deals John Lewis laptop deals Currys laptop deals Very laptop deals Tesco laptop deals Argos laptop deals Laptops Direct deals Dell laptop deals Popular cheap laptop deals
There have been some generous offers lately for this popular Lenovo laptop series. Any choice between the 4GB and 12GB RAM options should run multiple applications at once. Hard drive sizes vary from 256GB SSD to 1TB in regular form. Some options also include dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX 940MX graphics.
At around £200, the HP Stream 14 is decent value if you're after something to cover the basics like web browsing or document editing. It's competitively priced again the cheaper Chromebooks out there despite the 14-inch screen and Windows 10 operating system.
There's some hefty grunt under the shell of these HP 250 G4 and G5 models  and there are some great prices this week. The Intel Pentium processor and 4GB/8GB of RAM mean this laptop will whip through pretty much any day-to-day activity you can throw at it without the juddering performance of cheaper laptops. Hell, it'll even have a decent crack at playing a few of the less demanding games out there.
A sturdy choice for a study laptop for school/college/uni. The HP Pavilion 15 has more power that the average pupil needs while keeping the costs sensible. If you're not needing extra power of an expensive laptop for video/photo editing, this is more than enough for web browsing, playing some tunes on Spotify and editing coursework.
From afar, this laptop might be mistaken for a MacBook Pro which tells you a lot about its level of quality. Don't expect a full metal chassis at this price, but this is probably one of the best looking plastic bodies in its category. There are plenty of ports (old and new), 4GB of RAM and a massive 1TB hard drive. The cheapest models have a respectable i3 processor, but you can get the more powerful i5 versions for not much more if you need that extra kick. Asus saw it fit to include a DVD writer as well as a 15.6-inch full HD screen. Despite this large display and the presence of a numeric keypad, it's just a tad thicker and heavier than an Ultrabook.
Why not upgrade your storage with a cheap hard drive or SSD? See the best hard drive and SSD deals.
This is the newer version of the Asus Transformer Mini series. This upgrade includes a fingerprint sensor and double the RAM at 4GB for speedier performance. For your money, this is one of the most impressive two-in-one transformer models out there.
This is one of the larger Chromebook experience out there for someone looking for a full-sized laptop with an excellent screen at a super low cost. The 4GB of RAM running the Chrome OS is super fast and will allow you to really pile up tabs and apps without slowing down. The battery will easily last the best part of a day for most users too.
The best deals on our favourite laptops
We've reviewed loads of laptops over the years: we've seen the good ones, the great ones and the ones to avoid. Sometimes the best laptops pop up online at some truly deal-tastic prices. So in this section, we list the very best laptops out there and the best deals on each one.
The Dell XPS 13 is, bar none, the best laptop you can buy today. It features a revolutionary design that's astonishingly thin and light. Fitting a 13.3-inch screen into such a small frame means Dell has created a nearly borderless Infinity display. It's a powerful and long lasting machine even by today's Ultrabook standards. The XPS 13 comes outfitted with Intel's latest Skylake processors plus lighting, quick storage and memory, all while coming in at a very affordable starting price. For these reasons, it easily takes the top slot as the best Ultrabook , the best Windows laptop and the best overall laptop.
Looking for a quality gaming laptop but want to keep things under that unappealing £1000 mark? Then Dell has you covered with the Inspiron 15 Gaming range.
The Asus Chromebook Flip isn't perfect, but it's an impressive little piece of kit. Plus, it's so affordable that you might want to pick one up just to have a Chromebook on hand – even if you already own a MacBook or Windows laptop. Aside from the budget price tag, the Flip is one of the best-built Chromebooks to blaze the trail onward for more convertibles. Touchscreen functionality feels more logical, with a screen that actually rotates. The Flip meets all the core tenants of an ideal Chrome OS device.
This 10-inch hybrid comes packing a surprising amount of goods considering its small size. It's outfitted with an HD screen and more than enough power to get you through a simple day of web browsing and even image editing. When you're ready kick back with some media streaming, you can pop off the 10-inch tablet.
The Asus Strix GL502 is undoubtedly one of the best gaming laptops around for gaming in 1080p. It'll run with the settings cranked with games like Overwatch not dipping below 60fps. The battery life isn't the best, but the display, performance and built-in sound system more than make up for it.
Lenovo has crafted a brilliant, forward-thinking device that could very well create a subcategory in computing all of its own. The modest specs hold it back from taking on the big boys in terms of raw power, but the innovative digital touchpad keyboard and drawing surface look like trendsetters to us. The Android version is currently about £100 cheaper than the Windows one.
Can a tablet really replace your laptop or home PC? That's still up for debate, but the best tablet trying to make that happen is the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 - and it does a fine job with the full blown version of Windows 10, an integrated kickstand and optional keyboard attachment. Great for for creative professionals, students and everyday folks alike - it's only the premium price that push it down the list, but if you're willing to pay for it, you're getting a lot of power. A LOT.

Australia's best cheap headphones, discounts and deals in April 2018
With headphones of all types, colours and styles flooding the market, it’s hard knowing which ones to pick – do you go for the premium model you’ve always wanted, or are you better off just grabbing a cheap set from the discount bin?
Well, it’s worth remembering that cheap headphones are cheap for a reason, so even if saving money is priority we can’t recommend those $2 discount-bin variety that you find all over the world. And, as you’ll find out below, you don’t always have spend a lot of dosh to snag a great set of headphones either.
To save you the time and effort, we’ve put together this dedicated guide to the best bargains on great-sounding headphone. We constantly monitor major Aussie retailers and go a-huntin’ to bring you the most worthwhile deals on a variety of sets – from in-ear buds to noise-cancelling cans – so check out our continually updated list below to discover the best current headphones deals in Australia.
Best cheap over-ear headphones this week Best cheap in-ear headphones this week The best deals on our favourite headphones
To help you decide which headphones work best for you, we've decided to put together a little buying guide with a list of our favourite recommendations.
The headphones you'll find here have tons of features to help you to get the most out of your music, or any other form of audio-visual entertainment you prefer, however you like to listen to it.
Bose QuietComfort 35
Bose has brought its fantastic noise-cancelling technology to a pair of wireless headphones and it's done so without any of the traditional drawbacks of wireless headphones. They sound great, and their battery life is long enough for all but the longest of flights. They're super comfortable, and despite the fact that they don't use the AptX Bluetooth standard, the wireless doesn't harm their sound quality one bit.
Priced at AU$499 a pop, the QC35s sit firmly at the premium end of the spectrum, but if you want the best noise-cancelling headphones available right now, then you can't get any better. And they can be bought at a great price, too.
Read our review of the Bose QC 35 .
Bose QuietControl 30
For a pair of in-ear headphones, the QC 30 has a level of noise cancellation that matches any of Bose’s over-ear cans, and that’s very impressive given its size. In fact, the level of noise cancellation can be adjusted to suit your environment via the in-line remote.
But the effective noise-cancelling comes at the cost of sound quality. The QC 30 isn’t the best-sounding headphones in the world, but if you’re not an audio connoisseur, these are still a pretty good set of headphones to get, especially for those who don’t particularly enjoy the feel of cans on their ears.
Read our review of the Bose QC 30 .
Bose QuietComfort 25
The QC 25 are just as good as Bose’s premium cans, but without the premium price tag. They’re still expensive at $399 a piece, but they achieve top performance per dollar and definitely worth your hard-earned dosh.
With exemplary sound quality and equally excellent ambient noise cancellation, the QC 25 will suit the serious or the casual listener, providing a wonderfully immersive experience when watching movies or TV shows, playing games or just listening to your favourite beats.
Read our review of the Bose QC 25 .
Bose QuietComfort 20
For a pair of tethered in-ear headphones that cost you $369, you’d expect only the best from Bose, and the QC 20 does not disappoint. If you have the spare change and want incredible noise-cancelling combined with comfort and amazing sound quality, you really ought to get the QuietComfort 20.
The silicone ear tips are designed for a perfect fit while sealing the ear canal and the power for noise-cancellation comes from a lithium-ion battery. This makes the battery pack a tad unwieldy, but you’ll figure out how best to stow it as you go along. But all in all, these are one of the best headphones we’ve put through the paces.
Read our review of the Bose QC 20 .
Sennheiser Momentum Wireless on-ear headphones
These no-holds-barred wireless headphones are oozing with positive qualities, but the cans don't come cheap. However, if you're an audio lover that can spare the expense, do not hesitate on this comfortable, hard-working set of headphones that will likely last for years.
Stainless-steel arms and leather finishes gives the headphones a rugged look, while the ball-jointed swivelling earcups provide ample movement and comfort. Battery-savers will find the wired option to be convenient, but you can also turn the headphones on to activate active noise cancellation.
Read our review of the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless over-ear headphones.
Oppo PM-3
The Oppo PM-3 is a truly stunning pair of headphones. Make no mistake, we've reviewed a lot of headphones over the years but none have we become more fond of than the PM-3.
They're equally comfortable being plugged into a headphone amp at home as they are commuting through the hustle and bustle of the big smoke, and they stand head and shoulders above rival products from bigger brands. We really can't recommend them highly enough, they're just amazing.
Read our review of the Oppo PM-3 .
Sennheiser Momentum In-ear headphones
With the appealing candy apple detailing, Sennheiser gets you in the door. But once you're in, you'll stay for the killer sound quality that comes from the Momentum In-Ear earphones. And you won't have a problem that it's tethered.
Capable of providing booming, tight bass straight to your ear canal, the Momentum In-ear buds will have you foot-tapping to practically every tune you listen to.  And for a low-cost set of in-ears, they're as fine as they come.

SIM only deals: the best plans in April 2018
So you've come to the end of your phone contract? You basically have two options - grab a brand new mobile phone deal on one of the latest and greatest smartphones on the market. Or keep your beloved phone of the last two years and sign up for one of the cheap SIM only deals on this page.
A SIM only deal is a mobile phone plan that offers calls, texts and data in return for a monthly fee, but does not come bundled with a phone. Leaving the phone out of the equation gives you more flexibility (especially if you go for a 30-day rolling contract) or is ideal if you're eyeing up a new SIM-free phone .
If you take a sift through our handy price comparison tool above you'll see that 12-month prices start from a mere £3.99 per month for a basic plan , while you can also still bag Three's Mobile Choice Award winning 30GB deal . Whatever your needs, going SIM only is just the ticket if you're thinking to team one up with a brilliant budget handset purchase.
And if you're still unsure whether SIM-only is the route for you, our expert advice will help you decide - our all knowing FAQ includes tips on switching your number, the networks that offer free gifts and answers to a host of other questions.
Top 10 best SIM only deals of the week are:
We've run the figures and plucked out the very best sim only deals available this month.  Whether you’re after the cheapest plan possible, want to dig out the best value big data SIM plan or just want an all-round great deal but don’t know how much to spend, you’ll find a recommendation just for you.
1. The absolute cheapest SIM only deal out there 2. The best 1GB+ SIM only deal 3. The best 3GB-4GB SIM only deal 4. The best 5GB-10GB SIM only deal 5. The best 10GB+ SIM only deal 6. The best SIM only deal for unlimited data Check out today's best unlimited data SIM only deals 7. Best EE SIM only deal 8. Best Three SIM only deal 9. Best O2 SIM only deal 10. Best data only SIM deal Should I go SIM only?
If you a) want to save some money; b) don't want to be tied into a lengthy contract; or c) both of the above, then SIM only is well worth considering. In fact, you're probably one of two people if your thoughts are indeed turning to SIM only:
You're coming to the end of your contract and your network is calling you a million times a day to get you to upgrade. Well if your phone is dying a death or you just fancy a change, head to our best mobile phones deal page to see what bargains are lurking, but otherwise going SIM only on your current phone is a no-brainer. You'll wind up paying much less than you are under contract, and you can stick to a rolling 30 day contract so that if your circumstances change, you can get out of the arrangement tout suite.
It's time for a shiny new smartphone and you want to get the best value humanly possible. You'll have to find a few hundred quid up front for the handset (be sure to check our SIM free comparison chart ) but box clever and you'll end up paying less over the next 24 months (see below). Plus, if you're a commitment-phobe, most SIM-only plans don't require you to sign up for two years like you would with a normal contract. Is SIM only cheaper than contract?
It can be. Teaming a SIM only plan with a standalone SIM-free handset could save you a few quid. It's usually the case when a flagship phone hits the market and contracts are made deliberately expensive. Take the Samsung Galaxy S8 as a prime example, where you could have saved over £100 over two years by splashing the £800-odd for the handset and slipping in a cheap SIM card.
Not all the savings you can make are as extravagant, and on big data it's frequently more cost effective to dive into a contract instead. But if you can afford to splash a few hundred pounds up front then the savings over the next couple of years could well be worth it.
Is my phone unlocked - can I use a new SIM in it?
The times have passed since most phones were locked to a network and you had to pay a dodgy backstreet 'engineer' to unlock it. Nowadays, it's standard practice for networks to let you use whatever SIM you want in the phone as soon as you've paid up the original contract (or earlier if you pay them a fee) - and Three ships all its handsets unlocked from the outset.
The exception, alas, is Apple iPhones. They're generally sold locked to the original network that you purchase them with for the life of the handset. Very frustrating if you're looking for a tasty SIM only deal once your 24 month sentence is up.
The good news is that your iPhone (or any other mobile before the end of your contract) can be unlocked - the bad news is that most networks make you pay for the privilege. Insert a friend or family member's SIM into your phone to see whether it's already unlocked and, if it isn't, look for your network below to see how to cut ties with them:
EE Once six months have gone by on your contract, you can call EE on 0800 956 6000 and pay them £8.99 to unlock your phone. It says it will take around 10 days to complete. PAYG phones can be unlocked for free.O2 As long as you don't own an iPhone X, 8, 8 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus (they can't be unlocked until you've paid off your contract), you can unlock any O2 phone - including iPhones - for free if you're on a pay monthly contract. PAYG customers have to pay £15.Three Fear not, all phones on Three are unlocked as standard. Shove whatever SIM you like in there, it will work a treat.Vodafone The red network doesn't quite get the same marks as Three, as your phone will be locked to them on arrival. But they have made unlocking handsets absolutely free within 10 days of your request. What SIM card size do I need?
There are three sizes of SIM card that you can get for your phone, and the one you need will depend on your handset. It's been a while since the traditional, so-called standard SIM (15x25mm) has genuinely been the staple in new phones. Instead, any phone you've bought within the last five or so years is much more likely to require a micro (12x15mm) or nano (8.8x12.3mm) SIM - the iPhone 5 was Apple's first mobile with a nano SIM, while Samsung began using the smallest size in its Galaxy S6.
Before you purchase your new SIM, double-check the manufacturer's website to see what size you require. And if you're simply not sure, most networks now simply send out a triple SIM, so you'll get one of each size.
How do I keep my old number?
Ever heard of PAC codes and wondered what a classic 80s arcade game had to do with telephone numbers? It actually stands for Porting Authorisation Code, and it's the set of digits that you need to grab from your old network to let you transfer over your existing mobile number. If you're on one of the major networks, you can see what phone number you can contact them on here:
EE 07953 966 250O2 0344 8090202Vodafone 03333 040 191Three 0333 300 3333ID 0333 003 7777GiffGaff 43431 from your handsetVirgin 0345 6000 789BT 0800 800 150Tesco 0345 301 4455Sky 03300 412 524Asda 0800 079 2732
If you want to grab a bargain SIM only plan above, but it's on your existing network then your network won't release a PAC code and you'll be forced to take a new phone number.
At least you would have, if it wasn't for this clever (if convoluted) work-around. You have to order a free pay-as-you-go SIM from another network. Once you have it, you can tell your old network that you're moving and they'll give you that precious PAC code. Then, once your number is registered to the substitute network, simply get another PAC code from them. Take that to your old network, and they'll move your number to your new contract. Simple - kind of!
What contract length should I get?
Unlike with a contract, there's a lot more flexibility available when it comes to how long your SIM only plan will last. Two year commitments are virtually unheard of, with the norm being either one year or rolling one month contracts for ultimate flexibility. You can often get better prices if you tie yourself in for 12 months, especially on larger data tariffs. But sticking to one month at a time means that you can effectively hand pick a new plan to suit you every 30 days or so.
How much data do I need?
Because you can change your plan up more regularly than a normal, lengthier contract, it's less crucial to get this nailed from the start. But if you're thinking of grabbing a 12-monther or just put a personal pride on getting things right first time, then we'll help you pick out the sweet spot of data for you.
Firstly, check your phone to see how much data you've been using to date, and whether you have the tendency to use more than your current allowance every month. Then, if you're still unsure, check out our guidance:
0-1GB Tiny amounts of data on SIM only deals could be a blessing or a curse. If you're putting it in a rarely used phone that will scarcely be away from wi-fi then you're quids in. But if you end up with one because your head's turned by the incredible price, then you could end up paying more if you continually go over your allowance.2-3GB For anybody who needs data for little more than the occasional Google Maps route planning, 2GB and 3GB plans come cheap and give you much more freedom to check the football scores and scroll Facebook away from the wi-fi without danger.4-8GB If you can't leave the house without having a music streaming service like Spotify pouring into your ears, then it might be worth paying for some extra GBs of data.10-16GB This is a significant amount of data and some networks offer it for a very appetising price. Whether streaming music, downloading podcasts, watching social media videos, or all three is your thing - you should be covered.20-30GB Only smartphone junkies that need regular (and hefty) data fixes need bother with this avalanche of GBs. You'll be able to rinse Netflix, Spotify and online games without too much fear of topping out.Unlimited Maybe it's because you use remarkable amounts of data. Maybe it's because you simply don't want to keep checking how much data you've used every month. Whatever your reason to go unlimited, you have only two choices when it comes to network: Three or GiffGaff. Do I need unlimited calls and texts?
Call it practicality, call it greediness, call it what you want - it's human nature to want 'unlimited' anything if offered. But you should think genuinely about whether you really need it in a world where the likes of WhatsApp and Skype let you call and text for free over wi-fi or 4G. If you decide that a few thousand monthly minutes and texts should do you, then you could shave off some cash from your bill.
What's the best mobile network for SIM only?
While EE, O2, Vodafone and Three are generally considered the major four networks for contract plans, when it comes to SIM only there are some other key players are well worth a look. See what we think of them below, and whether you'll get any free perks to help persuade you to sign up. Plus, we'll tell you about a couple of other SIM sellers that might be able to wrangle you an even better deal.
EE SIM only deals
If you want fast and furious 4G, then your choice has to be an EE SIM only deal . Its speeds are around 50% faster than the other major networks, which is really noticeable if you like watching films or football on the move. And EE gives you three free months of BT Sport, as well as six months of Apple Music.

O2 SIM only deals
O2's best claim for your contract is with its Priority rewards - from cheap lunch deals and pre-order privileges on gig tickets, to ad-hoc discounts and competitions. Plus, they have 1000s of Wi-Fi hotspots in shops and cafes that you can connect to for free and save your precious data.

Which networks have coverage in my area?
It's one of life's (many) little frustrations - you sign up with a network, get your SIM up and running and then discover that you get no coverage at all in your house. Well this little pain in the neck can be avoided by using the dedicated coverage checker that most networks provide. Enter your postcode and you'll see whether your address has 2G (calls, texts and email), 3G (the basics plus picture messaging and faster web browsing) and 4G (all the powers of 3G, plus faster downloads, online gaming and media streaming) coverage.
We've provided links below to all the available coverage checkers on multiple networks. We'd advise not only checking coverage in your home, but also work, school, uni, favourite pubs and so on. Anywhere where you spend time on a regular basis really.

If you buy a phone after visiting this page, TechRadar will be paid a small commission by the network or reseller you buy from. This money is paid by the site you buy from and thus does not affect the amount you pay for your phone contract. If you go direct to the site you buy from, you would pay the same amount.
While some sites out there will be paid larger fees for pushing people to specific deals that aren't necessarily the cheapest, TechRadar will always find you the absolute best value. Trust and integrity is important to us, so if you ever think we're not displaying the very best deals let us know.

Best fibre broadband deals (subject to availability at your postcode) The best broadband and TV deals in the UK this month Best broadband only deals in the UK this month Can I order these broadband deals over the phone?
We understand that buying broadband is a big purchase that you're going to be committed to for at least a year. If you feel more comfortable ordering over the phone, we can offer a call centre service - but only for a selected few providers:
Sky broadband: 08000-142-334Virgin broadband: 08000-492-102TalkTalk broadband: 08000-492-103 What broadband speed do I need?
Superfast fibre broadband may sound appetising, but it may not be necessary for your home - especially if you want to cut costs. It could be worth considering slower, cheaper ADSL instead.
Broadband speeds are represented in megabits per second, or Mb. Crudely speaking, the more Mbs, the faster the broadband speed. But remember that the advertised speed is the maximum and doesn't necessarily represent the actual speed you'll end up getting. That varies depending where you live.
0-25Mb This entry-level broadband speed is transmitted via an ADSL connection to your nearest BT exchange. The equivalent to around 2.1MB per second, It should be fast enough for small households where only one or two people are using the internet at once. Be aware that if you stream TV, you may experience the odd interruption.
25-50Mb Where Virgin led the way, the rest followed. Now every big provider offers rapid fibre broadband. This is the sweet spot between fast speeds and good value and just the ticket for a family household where four or five members are all streaming, downloading and surfing at once.
50+Mb If you stream 4K TV or have loads of people trying to use your broadband connection at once, then it may be worth shelling out for the extra speed. It may cost you more, but you're pretty much guaranteed lag-free use - plus, the providers often sweeten the deal with added extras and rewards.
Is fibre broadband available in my area?
There's one very easy way to find out...scroll to the top of this page and input your postcode. We'll tell you straight away whether you can get fast fibre broadband.
Roughly speaking, 90% of UK homes now have the option of connecting to fibre broadband. But if you have your heart on Virgin Media fibre plans, it's more like around 60%.
What contract length should I go for?
Most broadband providers lock you in for at least 12 months, with one year plans being by far the most common.  That said, perhaps taking their cue from mobile phone contracts, we are now seeing some providers experimenting with longer plans, with 18 month contracts rearing their heads.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, some providers now offer short term rolling contracts. Virgin Media, for example, have 30 day plans for commitment-phobes. The downside is you'll be expected to play a larger setup fee.
When your contract comes to an end, be prepared for your monthly tariff to be hiked - especially if you were lucky enough to get a great introductory offer at the outset.
Will I have to pay anything upfront for broadband?
Usually. Sometimes known as 'setup', 'upfront' or 'activation' fees, most of the major broadband providers ask for at least some payment when you kick off your contract. The amount usually depends on what level of package you go for, but it will likely be somewhere between £10 and £60. Only TalkTalk bucks the trend - they've scrapped their activation fee completely, while other brands run frequent promotions where they temporarily scrap their upfront cost.
There may be other added extras, too, however. If you take a broadband and TV package, you might be charged for the TV set-top box. And some, including BT and EE, charge delivery for the router.
Do I have to pay more to have a phone line?
If you still use a home landline to make and receive calls, you're in luck - many broadband plans don't  just feature a landline, but they actually include it in your monthly price.
You will have to start paying more though when you have a personalised call plan. You'll see your standard monthly bill begin to escalate when you start adding unlimited evening, daytime or international calls to the mix.

The best Vodafone broadband deals in April 2018
We know what you may be thinking – "since when did Vodafone do broadband deals ?" Well it's been around three years since the mobile phone network entered the rat-race of providing home internet and it's proving itself to be one of the most cost effective exponents of cheap broadband on the UK market. You can get the best Vodafone broadband deals from its website .
Vodafone has some of the most fantastic prices for superfast fibre broadband around, which immediately gets on board. But on top of that, it has recently announced that it will become the first UK internet provider to guarantee its minimum speeds, with discounted bills available if it fails to live up to the promise. Top marks for that!
If you already know the Vodafone internet deal you want, it's easy to select it from our comparison tool above. But if you're still deciding, then scroll down for more information about what it offers.

Vodafone broadband packages compared – what broadband speed can I get with Vodafone?
Vodafone offers only two different speed options, having completely ditched standard ADSL altogether. It now exclusively sells fibre broadband. What you decide to get will depend on your budget and home internet use:
Vodafone Superfast 1
Vodafone Superfast 1 is among the cheapest fibre broadband deals on the market right now. The monthly payments are super cheap and there are no activation or delivery fees to pay upfront. So pop your postcode in our comparison chart at the top of the page, to see whether your home can get Vodafone's 38Mb speeds. Vodafone Superfast 1 includes:
Up to 38Mb speedGuaranteed minimum speed of 25MbVodafone Broadband routerUnlimited data usageHome phone lineSix months' free F-Secure SAFE antivirus
Vodafone Superfast 2
An extra fiver a month allows you to crank up the speed to a maximum of 76Mb (9.5MB per second). That's money well spent if you have a house full of people all trying to use the internet at once, or have a penchant for streaming the latest 4K Ultra HD films and box-sets. Again, for the speeds you get, this is excellent value. Vodafone Superfast 2 includes:
Up to 76Mb speedGuaranteed ninimum speed of 55MbVodafone Broadband routerUnlimited data usageHome phone lineSix months' free F-Secure SAFE antivirus
To sign up to any of these packages, you can head to the Vodafone website .
Can I add call plans to Vodafone broadband?
Vodafone used to stick to offering broadband only, but has now begun to allow you to add call packages too. For a few pounds more a month you can add unlimited evening and weekend calls, while its Anytime Landline and Mobile package is close to a tenner per month extra. There's also an international bolt-on you can add if you have friends and family in distance climes.
To add a broadband and phone plan, you have to choose your internet deal first and then Vodafone will let you add your chosen calling package.
Does Vodafone do any broadband and TV deals?
If you're looking for a one-stop shop for broadband and TV plans, then you'll have to keep hunting. Vodafone doesn't currently offer these add-ons (although Vodafone TV may not be far away...). Head to our best broadband and TV deals guide and use the comparison chart to narrow down your ideal all-round package.
What is the Ultra-Smart Vodafone Connect Router?
This is the free router you get when you sign up for Vodafone fibre broadband. You don't even have to pay to have it delivered! You can control the router from your mobile if you download Vodafone'as app, which lets you see who's connected and change your Wi-Fi password.
Another rather nice touch is that the router's LED lights (which can often be something of an irritant out the corner of your eye) can be turned off, or only come on when you pass your hand over them.
How long will my Vodafone broadband contract last?
This is very straightforward indeed – all Vodafone broadband contracts last for 18 months. So if you're adamant on only committing to your internet provider for a year, then you'll have to continue your search for cheap broadband deals .
To transfer to Vodafone now, head to our comparison table at the top of this page and narrow down your perfect plan. Alternatively, you can head straight to the Vodafone website .

The best fibre broadband deals in April 2018
Today's best value fibre broadband deals:
Thanks to the likes of Virgin Media, BT Infinity and Sky Fibre, you can now wave goodbye to the nightmare of sluggish web browsing, interrupted catch-up TV and slow downloads. Faster fibre broadband is now more affordable and widely available than ever before.
If you thought that the best broadband deals were reserved for slower ADSL internet connections, think again. Fibre optic broadband is a bloody battleground for the major providers, which means frequently fantastic prices for the consumer. Over the last few months, we've seen prices as low as £20 per month for 38Mb internet.
So check out our fibre broadband deals comparison chart above to pick out the package that suits you - whether you're after a fibre plan that includes TV channels, a flexible phone offer or simply fibre broadband internet on its own. Below we explain everything you need to know about fibre optic broadband - including fibre broadband availability -  followed by more information on providers including BT Infinity, Sky, Virgin Media, EE and more.

Test your internet speed with Techradar's broadband speed checker What is fibre broadband?
We don't want to get too technical here - the main thing to take from this is that fibre broadband is far faster than traditional ADSL internet. It uses fibre optic cables to send and receive data, resulting in a speedier, more reliable internet connection.
So instead of being stuck with maximum standard speeds of 17Mb, you can at least double that to 38Mb for download speeds of around 4.75MB per second. As well as facilitating ridiculously fast downloading, the extra speed is ideal for large households where lots of people are using the internet at once. If you stream 4K films and TV or play a lot of online games, fibre broadband is a must to ensure the highest-quality user experience.
All of the most popular providers - including Sky, TalkTalk, EE, Plusnet, Vodafone, John Lewis and the Post Office - offer a 38Mb fibre broadband plan, while BT goes one better. Its BT infinity fibre broadband starts at speeds of up to 52Mb (6.5MB per second).
If you're wondering why we haven't mentioned Virgin Media broadband yet, it's because its super fast service is slightly different again. It uses coaxial cable instead of copper fibre optics to connect your home to the exchange. That basically means even faster internet speeds for you - between 50Mb (6.25 MB per second) and an incredible 300Mb (37.5 MB per second).
Fibre broadband checker - is fibre broadband available in my area?
There's one extremely easy way to discover whether fibre broadband is available where you live - head to the top of this page, type in your postcode, hit 'compare deals', and if any results come back then you can indeed get fibre. Fibre and cable broadband is currently available in around 90% of the UK's homes, so the odds are in your favour.
What contract length should I go for?
Standard 12 month contracts used to be the norm, but more and more providers now set their minimum contracts at 18 months. There are two ways to look at this - on one hand, getting a longer contract some times also means that you are guaranteed the initial price for a longer period. So no nasty surprises half way through the term.
But at the same time, you obviously have less flexibility, being tied in for half a year longer. If you hate the idea of such a long contract, then head back up to our comparison chart and use the filter to see only year-long deals. There will be fewer to choose from, but there are still excellent prices to be had.
Will I have to pay anything upfront for fibre broadband?
Most providers ask for at least something when you take up their fibre broadband deal. This will usually be an activation fee, which covers the cost of getting you hooked up. There may also be an additional delivery charge to pay to get hold of your new router. In most cases, expect to pay between £10 and £60, although the likes of TalkTalk and Plusnet often run offers where they scrap all upfront costs.
Do I have to pay more to have a phone line?
Nope, all of the prices in our comparison chart include the land line. Providers used to specify how much you were paying for the phone line and internet separately, but now it's standard practice just to bundle them up together and give one single price. We welcome this change, as it makes the whole buying process a lot more straightforward. Having the phone line allows you to make calls if you still use a landline, and the basic price sometimes includes free or cheap weekend calls. If you want to add any other usage packages, you can use our comparison table to find more options, like evening, anytime and international calls.
BT Infinity broadband
For most people, BT will still be the first name that springs to mind when they think of broadband. Infinity is the of its fibre broadband packages - choose from the following options:
BT Unlimited Infinity 1 | Up to 52Mb
The maximum 52Mb download speed (around 6.5 MB per second) from BT Infinity 1 is faster than most other providers' entry-level fibre broadband. You also get the rangey BT Smart Hub router, instead of BT's standard Home Hub.
BT Unlimited Infinity 2 | Up to 76Mb
Fast enough to keep up with downloading and streaming from multiple members of your household. It doesn't come cheap, but does include 500GB of cloud storage, the Smart Hub and usually a very generous prepaid Reward Card to spend as you would a Mastercard.
View all BT Infinity broadband deals
Sky fibre broadband
On the face of it, the TV giant's basic Sky Fibre package looks like an amazing price. But beware - you're limited to only 25GB of data every month. See what else is on offer:
Sky Fibre | Up to 38Mb | 25GB data limit
Sky Fibre offers a competitive price point if you want fast broadband but don't do a great deal of downloading or streaming. You're limited to 25GB per month, but that's plenty for dealing with emails and generally browsing the web.
Sky Fibre Unlimited | Up to 38Mb
Costing around a tenner more than Sky Fibre, Unlimited gives you exactly what it says on the tin - there are no restrictions at all on how much you use the internet with this plan.
Sky Fibre Max | Up to 76Mb
Sky's premium broadband plan throws in some extras to justify the increased price. The 76Mb (around 9.5MB per second) maximum speed matches most of the fastest fibre plans around (Virgin excepted) and you get a Sky Q Hub router for free.

Virgin Media fibre optics broadband
Virgin Media cable broadband offers unparalleled internet speeds - no other provider can touch even its entry-level package. You can choose from:
VIVID 50 fibre broadband | Up to 50Mb  Virgin is now available for less than £30 a month thanks to new VIVID 50. So look at our postcode checker above to see if it's available on your street.
VIVID 100 fibre broadband | Up to 100Mb
You'll need to pay over £30 to get Virgin's cheapest broadband package. But you're unlikely to feel too shortchanged with the connection speeds.  The 100Mb claimed speed translates to 12.5 MB per second.
VIVID 200 fibre broadband | Up to 200Mb
As Virgin proudly points out, VIVID 200 more than doubles the maximum speed supplied by BT Infinity and Sky Fibre's fastest speed. The ultrafast 200Mb speed is a good fit if you stream 4K films and if there are 10 or so devices connected at once.
VIVID 200 Gamer | Up to 200Mb
There's more than just the 'boss-level broadband' tagline that should appeal to gamers about this fibre package. Pay an extra fiver from the standard VIVID 200 to bag up to 20Mb upload speeds - handy for online gaming. And you don't have to worry about online traffic management that can slow you down at peak times.
VIVID 300 fibre broadband | Up to 200Mb
Home broadband speeds in the UK don't come faster than those provided by Virgin's VIVID 300 fibre plan. It costs more than £40 a month, but you get speeds of up to 37.5MB per second. Extremely rapid.

TalkTalk fibre broadband
TalkTalk frequently manages to come up with brilliant, cheap deals on fibre broadband. The added bonus...it doesn't charge an activation fee when you sign up:
TalkTalk Faster Fibre | Up to 38Mb
The price for TalkTalk's entry-level fibre broadband includes your phone line and set-up. You can then pay extra for chat and TV bolt-ons.
TalkTalk Faster Fibre Broadband with Speed Boost | Up to 76Mb
TalkTalk's superfast broadband offering is one of the most competitively priced, and the absence of a set-up fee only sweetens the deal. This is the TalkTalk plan to go for if you have a multitude of data-hungry folk in your home.

Plusnet fibre broadband
Although Plusnet is owned by BT, it is continuing to operate in its own right and tends to be more affordable than its parent company. It has two broadband options:
Plusnet Unlimited Fibre | Up to 38Mb
Choose between a 12 and 18 month contract for Plusnet Unlimited Fibre, and get unlimited usage, 365 days a year support and a Plusnet Hub One router delivered to your door for free.
Plusnet Unlimited Fibre Extra | Up to 76Mb
The same, only much faster! Take the Unlimited Fibre package above and double the download speed.

EE fibre broadband
A name more commonly associated with mobile phones, the UK's fastest 4G network is trying to make EE your one stop shop for landline broadband too. You can choose from:
EE Fibre Broadband | Up to 38Mb
EE fibre broadband prices are quite attractive, but even more so if you're already a phone customer. Then, you'll be granted an extra 5GB of monthly data allowance on your mobile contract.
EE Fibre Plus Broadband | Up to 76Mb
It will cost you an extra few pounds to crank up the speed to EE's fastest Fibre Plus Broadband. Like the entry-level package, you get a free subscription to Norton antivirus and the option to upgrade to EE TV.

Vodafone fibre broadband
Another name more commonly associated with mobile phones, but there are excellent prices to be had from Vodafone broadband - whether or not you're an existing phone customer:
Vodafone Superfast 1 | Up to 38Mb
Vodafone has run to the top of the podium for fibre broadband deals - it's very rare that you'll find cheaper anywhere else. What's more, it's now the only mainstream provider that offers a minimum speed guarantee of 25Mb.
Vodafone Superfast 2 | Up to 76Mb
Faster broadband but the same competitive pricing makes Vodafone a very enticing option if you want 76Mb. With guaranteed speeds of at least 55Mb, there's nothing not to like..

SSE fibre broadband
Already one of the 'Big Six' energy companies, SSE is now offering cheap prices on fibre broadband. As you might expect, the prices get good if you use SSE as your energy supplier.
SSE Superfast Fibre Broadband | Up to 38Mb
SSE doesn't have a 72Mb option, so you'll have to go elsewhere. But the 4.75MB per second broadband speed will still be ample for most small households and deliver seamless surfing and streaming. Existing SSE energy customers get an automatic £25 credit on their next bill and there's a 25% saving to be made on an additional landline phone package.

Here we have one of the few budget laptops with a processor nearly equivalent to the MacBook Pro, that is, if you opt for the Intel Core i5 configuration. The best part? It’s roughly half the cost of its Apple-branded rival. Now given that it sells at a range of different prices, the Acer Swift 3 can be an obtuse purchase, but lucky for you, the midrange model will get you by just fine.

Its name is alphabet soup to the average reader, but then again this convertible laptop has always been about function over form. For one minuscule transaction, you’re getting a tablet equipped with an included keyboard and even a fingerprint scanner for more secure logins. Along with reliable performance and a magnesium-alloy chassis, it’s built to last.

While it may be outclassed by the Pixelbook and the Samsung Chromebook in terms of sheer power, the Acer Chromebook 15 can still pack a wallop while providing battery life that is frankly out of this world. It’s rare that a laptop can truly provide all-day battery, but in our independent battery tests, Acer’s Chromebook lasted an astonishing 17 hours – on top of providing enough power to get your work done online. If you’re looking for a 15 inch Chromebook that will give you the most bang for your buck, look no further.

The Lenovo Yoga Book, and the Windows 10 version of it in particular, is the sort of futuristic fodder you would find in an episode of Black Mirror. With its slick lines and a slim silhouette, the Acer Chromebook 14 makes for a subtle, snazzy laptop. Although its display isn't the most attractive we've seen, it’s still acceptable for full HD. On top of that, the keyboard and trackpad adhere to the principle of ‘it just works.’ The battery life is satisfactory as well despite falling a bit south of Acer's 12-hour claim in real-world use.

Best Xbox One X bundles: The latest Xbox One X deals:
Here's our list of the best Xbox One X prices and deals out at the moment, updated live.
Why should I buy an Xbox One X?
While not technically a 'next-gen' console, the Xbox One X is still a powerful upgrade over the current Xbox One lineup. To simplify things, it's more aligned with Sony's PS4 Pro than it is anything else. The target audience of both consoles are gamers with a 4K HDR TV who want to squeeze the best graphical performance possible out of their favoured console. For those gamers without a 4K TV, there will be modest performance boosts although it's likely not worth the upgrade if you don't have a 4K HDR TV.
We're told that the Xbox One X won't necessarily have any exclusive games released for it, and as far as we know all Xbox One titles will still work with it, so exclusivity and compatbility and reason enough alone to ditch your Xbox One S.
The Xbox One X is making bold claims about true native 4K gaming though with its upcoming titles and if you have a 4K TV with High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology, the Xbox One X is ready to seriously impress with the likes of Forza Motorsport 7, Metro: Exodus and Anthem set to be true jaw-droppers in the graphics department.
What is the Xbox One X price?
Although it's steep, the price conversion from the US didn't hit us nearly as hard as it normally would. The Xbox One X will cost $649 in Australia while the US will pay $499.
Where can I order an Xbox One X?
As is to be expected, all the usual suspects in the gaming retail business have the console in stock, although each and every one is offering the new Xbox One X for the same price.
With that in mind, you may as well order your console from The Microsoft Store for $649 as there's a better chance they'll have a bigger stock allocation, given it's the company's own store.
What if I don't care about 4K or want to save money?
Well, the good news is that the standard Xbox One S is a fantastic games console and you'll likely be able to get one with a few games for less than $300 over at our Xbox One deals page .

The best cheap broadband only deals in April 2018
All of the major players on the telecommunications scene now offer internet, TV and phone package deals. But if you don't use a home phone and are happy with the standard TV channels, a cheap home broadband only contract is all you'll need.
Use our postcode checker above to filter down the broadband deals available to you and whether you can go for superfast fibre broadband . Then use our comparison chart to home in on the perfect package - they all include a phone line, so you don't have to worry about getting one separately. And keep scrolling if you want some in-depth information about broadband plans and the broadband only plans offered by BT, Sky, Virgin Media, TalkTalk and others.

Test your internet speed with Techradar's broadband speed checker What broadband speed do I need?
If you simply want broadband for the cheapest price possible, you'll need to go for a standard ADSL connection. When you compare the prices of the cheapest standard speeds and unlimited superfast fibre, you'll see that you can save more than a fiver a month.
But if you're in the habit of streaming TV and films from the internet, or have lots of people in your household all online at once, then it pays to upgrade to fibre optic to allay annoying lags and slow webpage loading times. Broadband speeds are represented in megabits per second, or Mb - the greater the Mb, the faster the broadband speed (although your actual day-to-day speed will vary depending where you live).
0-25Mb It's not an acronym you see so much these days, but ADSL broadband is now the entry-level connection you can get for your home. With speeds up to 17Mb - just over 2MB per second - it's perfectly fine for small households who want to surf the web, handle their emails and stream non-4k catch-up TV.
25-50Mb Fibre broadband speeds start at up to 38Mb, so more than double what you get with standard ADSL. It's the sweet spot between fast speeds and good value and just the ticket for a family household where four or five members are all streaming, downloading and surfing at once.
50+Mb If you want to stream uninterrupted 4K Ultra HD content from Netflix or Amazon Instant Video, then it's well worth going for superfast internet. The same goes if you know that loads of people will be using your router simultaneously. BT Infinity deals , for example, start at up to 52Mb. While only Virgin Media broadband can offer 100Mb and over - that's an incredible 12.5MB per second.
Fibre broadband checker - can I get fibre broadband?
If you've read our advice above but are wondering whether fibre broadband is actually available in your area (it can currently be accessed by around 90% of UK households), then wonder no longer! Head to the top of this page, bash in your postcode and if you see fibre broadband deals on the list, then you're all good.
What contract length should I go for?
Broadband providers can deal in 12, 18 or 24-month contracts, with some providers giving you the choice. If you've got commitment issues or aren't sure how long you'll be at your property, then it's worth bagging one year deal. While getting an 18 month or two year deal often means that your price is guaranteed for longer.
If you need even greater flexibility, some companies offer 30 day contracts as well. Take Virgin for example. But bear in mind that they tend to charge higher set-up fees for the privilege.
Will I have to pay anything upfront for broadband?
There are only a few exceptions to the rule that you'll have to pay at least a little something immediately when you sign-up for broadband. The best case scenario is that it's just to cover the cost of delivering the router, but some providers also charge a set-up or activation fee to get you connected.
But if you head to our comparison charge above and use the filter on the left, you'll see that some providers don't charge a penny up front. This varies from time-to-time, with companies such as BT, TalkTalk and Plusnet running limited-time promotions where they remove these fees completely. So fingers crossed...
Can I get a phone line and TV channels with my broadband?
If you're curious how much a combined broadband, phone and TV package might cost, you can use our filters in the comparison chart above to tailor the best broadband plan for you and your household. There are hundreds of combinations, allowing you to cherry pick the amount and type of TV channels you get or when you can make calls. So our table will take the pain out of choosing.

Which broadband and TV packages have Sky Sports?
Sky Sports has long been the destination for serious sports fans. Building its reputation in the 90s as the only place to watch Premier League football, you'll still need to grab a Sky Sports subscription to watch Test match cricket, golf majors and most of the Formula One season.

Formerly known as Sky Movies, Sky Cinema features more films than you can shake a celluloid stick at. And it doesn't matter whether you like a laugh, crave nail-biting action or enjoy having your spine chilled - Sky Cinema channels include Comedy, Disney, Crime & Thriller, Sci-Fi & Horror and Premiere for all the best new flicks.

BT Unlimited Broadband and Infinity fibreSky FibreVirgin Media broadbandTalkTalk Fast Broadband and Faster FibreNOW Brilliant Broadband and Fab Fibre Which broadband and TV packages have Sky Atlantic?
You don't need us to tell you that we're in a Golden Age for television drama and box sets. Sky Atlantic is the network's way to make the most of the small screen's new wave of high-quality broadcasting from the US. Premiering the likes of Ray Donovan, The Affair and Westworld to these shores, most of you are probably after Sky Atlantic for one thing and one thing alone...Game of Thrones.
You can add Sky Atlantic to the following broadband plans:
Sky FibreNOW Brilliant Broadband and Fab Fibre Can I get BT Sport with my broadband and TV package?
Until recently, BT Infinity and broadband deals came with BT Sport for absolutely free. But that's all changed and you now have to pay £3.50 per month to enjoy BT Sport's exclusive coverage of Premier League and Champions League football, Premiership Rugby.
Virgin Media is the only other internet provider that allows you to add BT Sport to your broadband plan. You have to add BT Sport to one of Virgin's broadband and TV bundles .
What broadband speed do I need?
After you've chosen what TV channels you want, the next thing to decide is how much to splash on the broadband element of the deal. Very simply, the faster the connection, the higher the monthly tariff, with the cheapest rates on standard ADSL internet.
If you rely on the internet for streaming or downloading TV, films and music, then it makes sense to pay a few quid more a month and go for a fibre broadband deal instead. Learn more about the different available broadband speeds and which you may need below.
0-25Mb The entry-level internet connection you can get is called ADSL, sometimes simply referred to as 'standard'. It delivers speeds of up to 17Mb, which equates to  just over 2MB per second. It best suits small households who want to surf the web, handle their emails and stream non-4k catch-up TV.
25-50Mb Fibre broadband speeds start at up to 38Mb, so more than double what you get with standard ADSL. It's the sweet spot between fast speeds and good value and just the ticket for a family household where four or five members are all streaming, downloading and surfing at once.
50+Mb You need to crank up the speeds if you want to, say, stream 4K Ultra HD content TV and films. Most providers have speeds of 52MB and 76Mb, but only Virgin Media broadband can offer 100Mb and over - that's an incredible 12.5MB per second.
Can I get fibre broadband where I live?
If you think superfast broadband is what you need for your home, there may be a slight snag. Most households can now get it, but there's still around 10% of UK homes that still can't get it - and that rises to 40% where Virgin cable connections are concerned. So be sure to type in your postcode in our fibre broadband checker above to see whether superfast internet deals are available in your part of the country.
What contract length should I go for?
BT, Virgin and NOW all offer 18 month package deals, Sky does 12 monthers and TalkTalk gives the option between either. Virgin Media offers 30 day rolling contracts for broadband and TV contracts as well, but we wouldn't recommend them - the price shoots through the roof for these short term agreements.
Will I have to pay anything upfront for broadband and TV?
Afraid so. Unless you manage to catch one of the providers during one heck of a good promotional offer, you'll always have at least something to pay up front. This can include the costs of delivering the router and set-top TV internet box, but the likes of Virgin and BT also charge an activation or set-up fee.
Expect to pay at least £25 when you sign up for a TV and broadband  deal, but it shouldn't cost you any more than around £70 at the outset.

Yes, the good mattresses are usually on the expensive side — but for a thing that we use every day that also dictates if we're falling asleep at work, it's kind of worth it.

The best cheap iPad deals in April 2018
If you're looking for cheap iPad deals - you've most certainly come to the right place as we've compared prices from all over the net for every model still readily available. And yes, that includes the brand new iPad 2018.
In terms of tablets, the iPad has been king for years and is definitely still the best tablet. And because there are so many models these days, it's easier than ever to find a top iPad deal, with all manner of price points on offer.
Whether you're after a deal on a brand new iPad, iPad Pro the iPad Air 2 or even the iPad mini from many years ago, we've found the best deals so you don't have to.
Even with discounts offers, iPads can be a bit expensive - but thankfully we're already seeing some lower costs prices here - and also check out the Android models in our cheap tablet deals page.
Here's a snapshot of the latest prices on a selection of popular iPad models. After that, keep scrolling for an extensive list of prices for every iPad model on the market today.
Here are the best cheap iPad deals on all available models...
Apple's latest 9.7-inch iPad is very similar to the model released in 2017 and possibly not worth the upgrade if you have that one. The main new feature here is the Apple Pencil support, a feature usually reserved for the far more expensive iPad Pro models. That pencil doesn't come cheap though and has to be bought separately at £89/$99 - or you could get a third-party one for far less.
The new iPad is still a fantastic tablet though and is a bit faster and more powerful than the 2017 model thanks to the new A10 chipset. The iPad 2018 model is actually cheaper than last year's launch prices, although they've dropped since. The iPad 2018 costs start at just $329 in the US,  £319 in the UK and $469 in Australia.
iPad 9.7 2017 deals
Last year's model is seeing some great reductions now on the original prices thanks to a new and improved 2018 version landing recently. The 9.7-inch 2017 iPad was the successor to the iPad Air 2. It's a fraction thicker but contains an improved A9 chip with an M9 coprocessor for enhanced performance.
Surprisingly, this model is actually cheaper than the iPad Air 2 , making it the choice for anyone wanting a larger pad without the high costs of the Pro model.
In the US, prices for the 32GB  model launched at $329, compared to £339 in the UK and $469 in Australia. The 128GB model's price at launch was US$429 / £429 / AU$599. Opt for the cellular/SIM card 32GB model prices are around US$469 / £469 / AU$669, with the 128GB model priced at US$559 / £559 / AU$799. Like we said though, prices are dropping nicely now.
iPad Pro (2017) deals
Hey, wasn't there supposed to be an iPad Pro 2 this year? Well, yes, but Apple instead decided to name it the iPad Pro 10.5. Thanks, Apple...
The 10.5-inch iPad Pro is actually a brand new size in the iPad Pro range, as the previous smallest model was 9.7-inches (as well as the 12.9-inch option). The new iPad Pro models use an A10X processor, and the older ones have the A9X chip if you need to tell the difference. Some retailers also have '2017' in the listing title too, but many, including Apple, don't.
Why buy the new iPad Pro models? Well, the A10X is a faster processor to give it the edge over the older iPad Pro although the performance boost isn't huge to be honest. The rear camera gets a modest megapixel boost. The front camera gets a bigger upgrade though, for a much clearer FaceTime experience.
The new iPad Pro screens now benefit from smaller bezels and an improved display, for the best iPad display yet.
Both of the new models are available in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB hard drive sizes. You'll also need to decide if you want a standard iPad Pro with only Wi-Fi or mobile tethering options available for online activities, or to opt for the considerably more expensive cellular models and a data-only SIM only deal too.
If the improvements don't float your boat, you should take a look further down this page as we've listed the best deals available for the older iPad Pro models.
iPad Pro 9.7-inch deals
The older 9.7 model is much cheaper than the new 10.5-incher
The iPad Pro 9.7 used to be the gold standard in iPad design, but it's been dethroned by its slightly larger, yet younger sibling. This model originally arrived in March 2016 instead of an iPad Air 3 and still offers more than enough power and quality for someone thinking of stepping up to the Pro level of iPad, with the Pencil and Smart Keyboard on offer.
That's great news for anyone who wanted pro features at a cheaper price, as it's the least costly of all the iPad Pro models around right now.
iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2015) deals
The iPad Pro isn't a laptop replacement in the way power users will hope but it is, by some distance, one of the most brilliant tablets ever released.
Using its enormous 12.9-inch screen is an impressive experience and the power inside - despite the age - has rarely been bettered in the tablet world. So to anyone that wants an iPad with more power, a better audio and reading experience and more abilities than ever before, there's no question here.
Go for the iPad Pro and once you've got over the cost, you'll find it offers a lot of benefits. And with the new 2017 version on shelves now, we're seeing the price drop on this still-excellent iPad with many of the features you'll actually want.
iPad Air 2 deals
The iPad Air 2 is older, but still a good buy, with us saying that Apple 'improved on perfection'.
There's a newer iPad 9.7 that acts as a spiritual successor to the iPad Air 2, but you can often find the former model for less, especially if you're happy with refurbished models (and they're very much worth checking out).
The combination of power, better screen, improved design and upgraded OS make this a very, very compelling device - and that's before getting into the fact the app ecosystem is so much stronger than on Android.
It's even better now iOS 10 is capable of scaling apps so seamlessly - the days of low-res iPhone apps are gone. Here are the best cheap iPad Air 2 deals currently available...
iPad Air deals
It's still impressive to hold the iPad Air - even though it's now the thicker option compare to the iPad above. From the clever construction to the fast processor to the improved user interface, this iPad may be a bit older but it's still a strong choice for the right price. Choose a cheap iPad Air deal from these options we've found:
iPad mini 4 deals
Is the iPad mini 4 the best 7-inch tablet ever made? Quite possibly. One of the major changes with the iPad mini 4 over the previous year's so-so mini 3 is its design.
It may look the same, but it's been slimmed down from 7.5mm to a wafer thin 6.1mm. It's also more powerful, has a stunning screen and the battery is still a 10-hour beast.
The A8 processor was a good step up from the A7 inside the mini 3 so if you're going to play 3D games or throw around some of the more hefty iPad apps from the App Store, this is certainly your best option - all while being neat and compact.
iPad mini 3 deals
The iPad mini 3 wasn't the most exciting upgrade when it launched, basically adding in a new color and Touch ID to the iPad mini 2. It's now off-sale with the major retailers, but you can still pick it up for a half-decent price refurbished (even from Apple) or from resellers.
For most tablet tasks it'll perform admirably and is updated to iOS 11 - so you're still getting all the performance you'd want, with a more compact option over the Air range with the 7.9-inch screen this packs.
Here's every cheap iPad mini 3 deal you could ever want, and then some...
iPad mini 2 deals
The first iPad mini with Retina display is a deal-tastic marvel
This was the first iPad with a Retina display, and it still stacks up thanks to some lower prices. The deals can fluctuate - if you see the iPad mini 3 above for cheaper, then go for that as it's an enhanced model - but if you're smart you can pick up the iPad mini 2 for a good price, and it's perfect for the loved one who doesn't need the best screen and highest-performing processor.
Only word of warning: it might not get upgraded to iOS 12, so won't have all the newest features. But then again, if you're not bothered about the screen, you're probably not going to care about that either.
Here are the best cheap iPad mini 2 deals currently available...
iPad mini deals
The cheapest iPad out there but it's still a winner
So the original iPad mini may not have a Retina display but for the right price, it's still worth looking at. That said, there aren't a lot of places putting it for under $200 / £200 / AU$300, which is the level we'd suggest if you wanted this ageing iPad. Here are the best cheap iPad mini deals we can find at the moment, but we'd suggest going for at least a mini 2 right now.

The best BT broadband and Infinity deals in April 2018
Our favourite BT broadband deal:
BT is one of the first names you think of when choosing a broadband provider and its range of packages is varied. If you want BT internet , you can narrow down the best deals above - enter your postcode and we'll do the rest.
We've found all of the cheapest prices currently on offer for standard speed internet and BT Infinity fibre broadband - just pop in your postcode above and we'll do the rest. And if you want more than just broadband, we'll show you the best phone and television deals , too. Down the page, we'll answer some commonly asked questions about BT internet.

BT broadband packages compared - which is the best for me?
All BT broadband deals now feature unlimited data allowances. So the main choice you'll face with BT is what speed to go for. Standard ADSL broadband gives speeds of up to 17Mb which will probably give you a max download speed of around 2MB per second. Upgrade to BT Infinity - the company's fibre optic offering - and you can choose between 52Mb and a super fast 76Mb.
After that, you can pay more to add home phone options and a TV subscription - although you may find some package bargains around Black Friday time. The latter includes a YouView box and access to the BT TV package of your choice - more on which below.
BT Unlimited Broadband
BT's most affordable broadband offer gives up to 17Mb speed - that's just over 2MB per second. That should still be plenty fast enough to let you browse the web, stream music and watch interruption-free catch-up TV. But it may struggle to cope with larger households all using the internet at once. BT Unlimited Broadband includes:
Up to 17Mb speedBT Home Hub 4 router100GB of BT cloud storageBT Virus Protect for two devices
BT Unlimited Infinity
If fibre broadband is available where you live and you have a few extra pounds to spare a month, we'd recommend cranking up the speed to BT's least expensive Infinity deal. At 52Mb (roughly 6.5MB/s), it's got the legs to seamlessly deliver HD video and fast downloads, even when there are a few of you using it. BT Unlimited Infinity includes:
Up to 52Mb speedBT Smart Hub100GB of BT cloud storageBT Virus Protect for two devices
BT Unlimited Infinity 2
If you demand extremely fast downloads and stream 4K films and TV, then BT's fastest broadband (76Mb) is well worth considering - especially if you've got a bustling household all trying to log in at once. It's pricey, but BT sweetens the deal with some added extras. BT Unlimited Infinity 2 includes:
Up to 76Mb speedBT Smart Hub500GB of BT cloud storageBT Virus Protect for 15 devices What BT router will I get?
BT throws in a router for free (although you'll have to pay for the delivery). The quality of router you receive will depend on the package you choose.
BT Home Hub Go for standard BT Unlimited Broadband and you'll get the basic Home Hub 4. You've probably seen it sneakily peering at you from around corners in the homes of umpteen friends and families, although its dimensions are sleek enough that you should be able to stow it somewhere subtle without too much trouble. As well as wi-fi, you can also connect to it via an ethernet cable. It's perfectly functional, but doesn't have the same strength as the...
BT Smart Hub Pay £65 extra or upgrade to BT Infinity and you'll receive the more powerful Smart Hub. BT claims that it gives out the UK's most powerful wi-fi signal among the routers sent out by other major providers. Handy if you live in a big house or like to use your phone or laptop out in the garden.
Alternatively, you can stick with your existing router. But unless you've shelled out a lot for your current model, you're probably better off swallowing the delivery charge and using the BT Home Hub or Smart Hub. That way, if anything goes wrong, you'll be able to use their tech support.
How long will the contract be?
Take BT broadband, and you'll be tied into a 12 month contract. After that, your monthly cost will go up by around a tenner. To encourage you to hang around, you can't use your BT router with any other broadband provider so you'll need to pay for a new one when you move on.
Are there any BT broadband AND TV deals?
There are three TV packages that you can add to your BT internet package, but you'll need to sign up for 12 months:
Starter BT is chucking in its Starter TV package if you get Infinity - which includes 80 channels, together with BT's entry-level YouView box. It costs extra if you go for standard broadband.
Entertainment Plus You can splash out an extra few quid a month for BT's Entertainment Plus package. This includes 110 channels and a YouView+ box to record up to 300 hours.
Total Entertainment If you're totally addicted to films and box sets, then it may be worth spending £15-ish a month on Total Entertainment. This is a must if you have a 4K TV, as BT throws in its YouView+ Ultra HD box. It can record 600 hours of video to help you keep abreast of the 141 channels it gives you access to.
What about BT Sport?
Until recently, BT Sport came free with every BT internet plan. That's come to an end now...you'll have to pay an extra £3.50 a month to get access to Premier League football, Ashes cricket, top-flight rugby union and exclusive UFC action. Keep your eyes peeled however, as BT does run the occasional promotion where you can still get BT Sport for free.
Can I make calls from a landline?
You can indeed. No matter which BT broadband package you opt for, you get a landline phone number with unlimited weekend calls to other UK landlines. If you prefer nattering in the evening you can pay extra for unlimited landline calls between 7pm and 7am. While more still lets you make as many landline calls as you want at any time of the day. You'll be covered by free BT Call Protect as well, which will help to halt nuisance calls.
Can I add BT Mobile?
To goad you into bringing all your devices over to BT, it's offering £5 a month off your monthly mobile phone tariff. BT Mobile has deals on all the biggest and newest handsets, including iPhones and Samsung Galaxys. In particular, that makes BT pretty competitive when it comes to SIM only deals .
What is BT cloud storage?
If you find yourself running out of storage space on your phone, tablet or laptop or want to back up your files, BT has its own cloud storage solution. With BT Unlimited Broadband and Infinity 1, you'll get 100GB - that's enough room for around 25,000 songs, 140 films or 100,000 photos. It's 500GB if you go for Infinity 2, which should be sufficient to store the music and photo collections of you and your family.
What is BT Virus Protect?
All BT broadband packages include BT's internet security tool, BT Virus Protect. As well as promising to vanquish viruses, it features BT Web Protect to flag phishing scams, BT Parental Controls to help you limit the websites your children can see and True Key for easy management of your passwords. As well as your main computer, you can apply BT Virus Protect to one other laptop, phone or tablet if you go for Broadband Unlimited or Infinity 1. While Infinity 2 lets you protect up to 15 devices. We still think you should get dedicated internet security however - check out our pick of the best antivirus software .
What's a BT wi-fi hotspot?
BT has dotted five million wi-fi hotspots around the UK and 18 million around the globe. As a BT Broadband customer, you'll have access to every one of them. So if you're on your laptop in a cafe or checking maps on your phone and see that BT Wi-fi is available, you can jump on for free.
Are there any other perks to getting BT broadband?
As well as the discounted mobile tariffs and cut price BT Sport, BT is luring in new customers with a BT Reward Card. This online exclusive means you can claim a prepaid Mastercard cash card if you sign up to BT Broadband.
The sum on the Reward Card changes regularly, but is usually in excess of £50 -
and sometimes as much as £150. The amount on the card is always more with one of the BT Infinity packages.
Is BT broadband any good?
BT relies a lot on its enduring reputation as the most recognisable name in telecommunications, and it remains the most widely used broadband provider in the UK. But that doesn't necessarily equate to quality. Although it can offer competitive prices and bespoke internet, phone and TV packages, it often sits at the bottom of the list when it comes to customer satisfaction surveys.
How to use the BT broadband checker?
Much like our postcode checker above, BT has its own broadband checker . Pop in your address and phone number and it will let you know what speeds you can expect with BT internet and whether its Infinity broadband is available in your area. If fibre isn't yet available, you can sign up to BT's mailing list so that they'll give you a shout when the cables have been installed.
How do I contact the BT broadband helpline?
If you need help with your broadband or set-up, BT doesn't exactly make it easy for you to speak to them on the phone. It seems to prefer for you to go through its online support. But if you're determined to speak to a human, there is a 24/7 number available. Dial 0800-111-4567 if you're using a landline in the UK, 0330-123-4567 from your mobile or +44179-359-6931 if you're out of the country.

13 h ago TechRadar :: The best TVs under £500 in 2018
Read on TechRadar | Share | Tweet

You really don’t need to spend a fortune to own a leading-edge TV - there are some amazing TV bargains to be had right now, even if your budget is limited to £500 or less. While you might think you’re about to sacrifice all the good stuff to meet this price point, manufacturers have other ideas.
Ultra HD image resolution is now very much within reach, as TV makers shift the bulk of their production to 4K panels. But there’s some interesting Full HD models to be had too. If you want a new screen able to make the most of a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X , or to sate your binge-watching habit, then you’re in luck.
You can even expect to get some level of network functionality, although in many cases what you’ll encounter is a stripped back platform that mainly offers the most popular streaming services. Still, Netflix is Netflix, right?
And if the smart platform on your chosen TV is limited, it’s really not very expensive to add a streaming HDMI stick (like an Amazon Fire TV or Roku dongle). Going for a separate solution may even offer a better connected experience in the long run.
Of course, when it comes to design and build quality, you can’t expect too much at the budget end of the market. To mitigate against this, our advice is to look for TVs which make a virtue of their thin bezel and simple pedestal. Minimalism is always your (design) friend.
A more contentious area when buying budget is HDR (High Dynamic Range). While many sub-£500 sets will support HDR, what they actually offer is basic compatibility. Cut-price flatscreens simply do not have the ability to display the kind of luminous peak brightness that really eye-catching HDR can offer.
Audio quality is also likely to be fairly routine, with low cost drivers and limited amplification. But again this can be addressed at a later date, with a soundbar or separate audio solution.
Thankfully, you don't have to wade through reams of tech specs to discover the sharpest bargain buys. TechRadar’s guide to the best TVs available for under £500 will point you in the right direction. If you want to sharpen up your image for less, read on…
That said, there are a few other cracking TVs out there for less than half a grand; so here, kicking off with the Toshiba, are the five best TVs under £500, ranked by their price-to-performance ratio…
This high value 4K Toshiba TV may well have you doing a double take. It packs quite a punch when it comes to features. Part of an expansive range from the brand, this 43-incher combines a 2160p resolution panel with Freeview Play tuner and a variety of streaming apps, courtesy of the Toshiba Smart Portal.
The former offers a full range of catch-up TV services, with BBC iPlayer, ITVHub, Demand 5, All4 and UKPlay, with later contributes Netflix and Youtube. You can even Miracast images from a mobile to the screen.
Picture quality is UHD sharp, but there’s no HDR support. The panel isn’t wide colour gamut capable either, but if you’re gaming, watching Sky Q or streaming 4K from Netflix, this limitation won’t make a difference.
The set looks good, if a bit plasticky, and offers versatile connectivity. There are four HDMIs, a SCART, and three USBs. Audio is punchy, with a 20W output, but you might want to consider adding a small footprint soundbar just to improve clarity.
Philips 6-series sets are often a first port of call if you want a high-value flatscreen with an edge. This particular model combines classic lines with a simple pedestal stand and two sided stereo Ambilight.
We’ve long been fans of Philips scene-setting Ambilight technology, and on this range you get to enjoy it with 4K HDR and catch-up packed Freeview Play.
Ambilight, if you've never used it in the past, allows you to wash your walls with the colours of onscreen action, or bathe them in solid hues. When playing music, the set will pulsate its Ambilight LED lights with the beat, while gaming can make your room positively throb with colour.
But this set is about more than a few cheap parlor tricks: Image quality is class-leading. Philips Pixel Plus UHD image processing ensures clarity and a decent level of contrast. The TV’s pixel dense screen brings a pleasing smoothness to both Full HD and UHD sources. The TV is compatible with HDR10, and has the brand’s own own HDR Plus processing on top, but it’s not overly bright. We measured peak white luminance at just over 350 nits (cd/m2), which is comparable to a budget SDR model.
Despite the low price, there’s an effective smart portal here, with 4K Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Video available, amongst others.
All things considered, this is a crowd-pleasing 4K budget buy.
This 40-inch Bravia boasts HDR, but surprisingly it’s not 4K. Instead, Sony has grafted HDR compatibility onto a regular 1080p set, with a view to wooing HDR gamers (all PS4s offer HDR gaming). Sony has two models in this hybrid range, the 32-inch RE40 (KDL-32RE403) and the 40-inch RE45 (KDL-40RE453), featured here.
It’s not a bad strategy, not least because at 40-inches and below, UHD resolution is actually quite difficult to appreciate at a normal viewing distance. Small UHD pixels are also less bright than larger HD ones.
Cosmetically, the KDL-40RE453 looks entirely presentable. The thin bezel frame has an aluminium-style trim, coupled to a very stable central pedestal (reassuring if this set is going to end up in a kids bedroom). There are only two HDMI inputs though, which could limit system options. Other connections include twin USBs (one for timeshifting onto an external USB hard drive) and a digital optical audio output.
Picture quality is above average. Detail is boosted by Sony’s X-Reality PRO image processing. As this is a regular 50Hz panel, it only offers basic motion handling (rated Motionflow XR 400 Hz by Sony). There’s no smart platform either.
We reckon the RE45 is well worth shortlisting, especially if you want an above average budget 1080p panel for gaming.
Size matters when it comes to 4K, which is why a 50-inch screen for less than 500 smackers is extremely enticing.
That said, Hisense has a reputation for value, which is typified by this budget beater: A Freeview Play tuner ensures a full raft of catch-up services, including UK Play, while Hisense’s own Vidaa Lite smart portal offers Netflix 4K, Amazon Video, YouTube and Wuaki TV.
Build quality and design are much better than you might expect at this price point, and connections include three HDMIs with an option for component for legacy gear.
There’s no HDR support or wide colour support, but native 4K images are undeniably sharp, and the set does a reasonable job with HD sources too
The set’s audio performance is predictably routine, although it does boast dbx-tv processing technology, which includes a faux virtual surround sound mode. Of course, there’s an optical digital output for a soundbar, if that’s more your jam.
Overall, this big N5300 set should be considered hulking good value.
LG’s sub-£500 hero is the 4K 43-inch 43UJ670V, which offers both a high level of HDR support and a Freeview Play tuner, plus the brand’s own, class leading webOS smart platform. Now in its v3.5 iteration, webOS offers lots of cool functionality, including a Gallery mode and 360 degree video playback. Netflix 4K, Amazon Video, YouTube and Now TV are all integrated.
The UJ670V may be fairly cookie cutter in design, just an ultra thin bezel and curved pedestal, but connectivity is also good, with four HDMI inputs, a legacy AV connection, and a digital optical audio output.
The benefits of 4K resolution will be limited at this size (you’ll need to buy a larger model from higher in the range to really enjoy UHD clarity) but colour vibrancy is high. The set supports both HDR10 and broadcast HLG. LG also employs Ultra Luminance, a local dimming technique, to maximise peak highlights. A contrast booster provides a visual lift to SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) content.
Off-axis viewing is superb, thanks to the use of an IPS panel. Colour and contrast don’t drain away when you’re not occupying the best seat in the house.
Onboard audio is aided and abetted by DSP faux surround effects. In all, this is a superior budget 4K proposition.

1 d ago TechRadarThe best Virgin broadband deals in April 2018
Read on TechRadar | Share | Tweet

Virgin Media led the way in the introduction of fast fibre broadband to the UK. The likes of BT, Sky and TalkTalk now offer competing services, but Virgin Fibre is still the fastest you can get.
After using TechRadar's postcode tool to see if Virgin is available where you live, you can check our comparison table to discover how much you'll need to pay for Virgin broadband , phone and TV packages. We'll get you the very best broadband deal for your home - you can now get it for less than £30 thanks to Virgin's VIVID 50 plan. But prices have recently gone up, making it more important than ever to use our comparison chart to bag the best price.
Prefer to order by phone? Then call 08000-492-102 and speak to an adviser dedicated to Virgin broadband deals.

Virgin Media broadband only deals
Virgin Fibre's USP is its super fast broadband speeds. Using only cables there's no such thing as cheap Virgin Media broadband, but even its least expensive broadband only plan gives speeds of up 50Mb - that's faster than the entry-level fibre broadband offered by the likes of Sky and Plusnet.
VIVID 50 fibre broadband
Thanks to its dazzling speeds and independent cabling, Virgin Media's broadband has traditionally been more expensive than its competitors. But the recently launched VIVID 50 tariff now brings the monthly price down under £30 per month. Considering you'll be getting 50Mb speed (equivalent to 6.25MB per second), that's a very nice price.
VIVID 100 fibre broadband
No longer the cheapest Virgin fibre deal on the block, you'll need to pay over £30 to get Virgin's second lowest broadband tariff. But you're unlikely to feel too shortchanged with the connection speeds. The 100Mb claimed speed translates to 12.5 MB per second - you shouldn't be frustrated with any buffering, even when a few of you are streaming content at the same time.
VIVID 200 fibre broadband
As Virgin proudly points out, VIVID 200 more than doubles the maximum speed supplied by BT Infinity and Sky Fibre's fastest speed. The ultrafast 200Mb speed is a good fit if you stream 4K films and if there are 10 or so devices connected at once. And like all of Virgin's broadband offerings, it's completely unlimited - you can download and stream as much as you wish.
VIVID 200 Gamer
There's more than just the 'boss-level broadband' tagline that should appeal to gamers about this fibre package. Pay an extra fiver from the standard VIVID 200 to bag up to 20Mb upload speeds - handy for online gaming. And you don't have to worry about online traffic management that can slow you down at peak times.
VIVID 300 fibre broadband
Home broadband speeds in the UK don't come faster than those provided by Virgin's VIVID 300 fibre plan, and no other provider comes anywhere even close. It costs almost £50 a month, but you get speeds of up to 37.5MB per second. That's extremely rapid.
And it's set to get even faster, with Virgin announcing 350Mb broadband later in the year.
Can I order Virgin broadband deals over the phone?
Yes indeedy. If you dial 08000-492-102 you'll go through to a call centre manned by advisers who can take you through your Virgin Media purchase over the phone.
How much is a Virgin Media bundle with broadband and TV?
To entice you in, Virgin has some broadband and TV bundles with an attractive price tag for the first year:
Player bundle Virgin's basic bundle adds 70+ TV channels, weekend calls, Sky On Demand and a brand new Virgin TV V6 box to the VIVID 50 broadband plan.
Mix bundle The Mix bundle more than doubles the amount of channels you get with the Player bundle, adding the likes of Sky 1, Sky Sports News and  Sky Living.
Full House bundle If you're happy to part with more than £50 a month for your broadband and TV, Virgin's Full House bundle combines fibre optic broadband with more than 230 TV channels. There's good news for sports fans - the extra channels include BT Sport 1, 2 and 3. And there are box sets if drama's more your thing.
VIP bundle With the VIP bundle Virgin rolls out the red carpet. As well as premium TV channels such as all the Sky Sports and Sky Cinema offerings, Virgin also throws in a second Virgin TV V6 box. That means you can record up to 12 channels at once with 2TB of storage - enough for around 1,000 hours of TV. Ideal for large families.
Can I get a phone line with Virgin Media broadband?
You can indeed - and the good news is that you can keep the phone number you previously had with your BT phone line.
The starting cost is roughly the same as a Virgin broadband only plan for the first 12 months, and then goes up after the first year. That includes unlimited weekend calls to landlines and numbers on Virgin Mobile.
After that, you can start adding extra talk time to your plan. A little extra a month gets you Talk More Weekends, which adds all UK mobiles to your allowance. Talk More Evenings and Weekends allows calls to any UK number after 7pm on weekday evenings, while Talk More Anytime gives you as many calls as you like at any time of day.
Got friends or family abroad? A further upgrade allows calls to 30 international locations - including Australia, Canada and the USA - as part of the Talk More International Anytime plan.
Do I have to pay anything up front for Virgin broadband?
Yes, but not a lot. No matter which Virgin Media broadband package you choose, you'll have to pay a one-off £20 activation fee.
How long will my Virgin Media contract be?
The standard Virgin broadband contract is for 12 months, after which your monthly price may be subject to change.
But if you're a commitment-phobe, you can choose to go on a flexible 30 day rolling contract instead. The only downside is that you have to pay £65 upfront for the privilege.
How do I contact the Virgin Media helpline?
You can call 0345-4545-1111 to speak to one of Virgin's customer advisers, or 150 from a Virgin phone. But that's only between 8am and 10pm - outside of those times you'll have to rely on the company's online support pages.

3 d ago GameSpotThe Best Video Game Deals Of The Week, Ending April 22
Read on GameSpot | Share | Tweet

It's been a busy week for deal hunters, with loads of sales and discounts on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC games to choose from. Here's a roundup of some of the best deals from a variety of sources.
Let's start with the best kinds of deal you'll ever find: free games. Peggle is currently free for PC on Origin. Download it. Play it. Love it. PC gamers can also download a free copy of Satellite Reign from the Humble Store. It's yours to keep and play forever.
Xbox One owners will be pleased to see that PUBG is free to play all weekend long . Any progress you make carries over if you decide to buy the full version after the weekend's over. Speaking of Xbox One, horror fans will be pleased to hear Microsoft is running a big horror game sale this week. So if you've been meaning to scare the pants off yourself playing games like Outlast 2 ($10) or Layers of Fear ($6), head over to see the full list.
The PlayStation Store's weekly promotion is the Double Discount sale . It has discounts on games like Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy ($24) and Star Wars Battlefront II ($30). If you have a PS Plus membership, you get twice the discount on each of the games.
Best Buy's weekly video game sale is particularly good this week. It has discounts on everything from Overwatch ($40) and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands ($20) to a foam replica of Kratos's axe. As always, Gamers Club Unlocked members get additional savings.
On the PC side of the gaming aisle, the retailer GOG is putting its customers' wishlist data to good use. This week, it's dropping prices on some of the "most wishlisted" games , including The Witcher 3 , Divinity: Original Sin 2 , and more. Additionally, the Humble Store has a number of excellent games on sale this week, including Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for $5. And the new Razer Game Store is having a sale on Rockstar and 2K games. You can get GTA V for $24, which is a deeper discount than we're used to seeing.
If you're into gaming apparel and collectibles, you have two big sales to check out this week. Both the BioWare Store and the Bethesda Store are shutting down temporarily. They'll be back up eventually, but now they're trying to liquidate tons of apparel, accessories, and collectibles by putting them on sale for cheap. So if you want major discounts on gear based on franchises like Mass Effect , Fallout , and The Elder Scrolls , visit the respective store for savings.
This one isn't quite a deal--in fact, it's kind of the opposite--but it may be of interest to fans of Nioh . You can now pre-order a statue of the protagonist and his spirit guardian. The only catch? It costs $1,000 .
We can't spend all of our free time gaming. If you want to expand your leisure activities to movies, you're in luck: Best Buy is running special offers on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray movies. For instance, you can grab a Kubrick collection and the Lord of the Rings trilogy for $20.
Some links to supporting retailers are automatically made into affiliate links, and GameSpot may receive a small share of those sales.

13 d ago TechRadarThe best cheap Dell laptop deals in April 2018
Read on TechRadar | Share | Tweet

We all know that Dell creates some of the best laptops to date, but did you know they could be affordable, too? Well, if you know where to look, there are myriad Dell laptop deals floating around the internet, which will especially be the case this Christmas and holiday shopping season.
That said, there are several kinds of laptops to choose from when shopping around for a new Dell. The Inspiron line ranges from entry- to mid-grade laptops, while the XPS is all about delivering flagship-level power in the most alluring form factor.
Then, there’s Alienware, a Dell company that solely makes gaming laptops – those with dedicated graphics chips and usually beefy processors to boot. For these reasons, it can be difficult to suss out all the best Dell laptop deals in each of these categories and product lines.
That’s why we’ve taken care of the hard job for you, recording all of the top Dell laptop deals onto a single page. Just remember that these deals are available as of last writing, so mind the article’s time stamp.
The best Dell XPS 13 deals
As does any other notebook maker with its leading product, Dell actually runs deals on its XPS 13 rather frequently … just not as big of ones or as often as, say, its mid-range Inspiron lineup. Being Dell's most sought-after laptop,, it makes sense.
With up to a 13.3-inch, 3K IPS touchscreen inside an 11-inch aluminum frame, Intel's latest Core i processors as well as Thunderbolt 3 and an SD card slot, the XPS 13 is ready for all kinds of work and play.
Below, you'll find the best deals we could find on the XPS 13 in the UK, US and Australia. Just note that most XPS 13 deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the version you want has the hardware you want inside, too.
Read the full review: Dell XPS 13
The best Dell XPS 15 deals
The XPS 15 is, frankly, a larger XPS 13. However, that extra space inside the 14-inch frame (fitting a 15.6-inch version of that beautiful screen) allows for Nvidia's GTX 1050 mobile graphics chip.
All else equal, this makes the XPS 15 even more suitable for professionals and players alike, though considerably less portable. And, of course, a larger screen asks for a larger price tag.
Below are the best deals we could muster on the XPS 15 in the UK, US and Australia. We'll say it again: note that most XPS 15 deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the version you want has the hardware you want inside, too.
Read the full review: Dell XPS 15
The best Dell Inspiron 11 deals
Dell's best Windows-based answer to the Chromebook legion is the Inspiron 11. A tiny bit of power to inhabit such a tiny price, this laptop is ideal for students of basically all ages, but not for those in computing intense fields (i.e. animation, media editing, etc), and anyone seeking a cheap way to get online.
Since this is nearly the least expensive laptop money can buy, deals on these are few and far in between.
Below are the best deals we could muster on the Inspiron 11 in the UK, US and Australia. Note that most Inspiron 11 deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the version you want has the hardware you want inside, too.
The best Dell Inspiron 14 deals
This is one of Dell’s most entry-level laptops, but has recently opted to make it feel anything but. With expandable storage and an HD webcam, you’re looking at a fine college companion for the liberal arts student or a fine laptop for mom and dad now that you’ve left the nest.
It won’t do much of any gaming, but its processor should stream movies at 720p just fine. As a family photo repository and keeping in touch with the kids – or heck, write that thesis – device, the Inspiron 14 is a consummate Chromebook challenger.
Below are the best deals we could muster on the Inspiron 14 in the UK, US and Australia. Note that most Inspiron 14 deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the version you want has the hardware you want inside, too.
The best Dell Inspiron 15 deals
For whatever reason, we’ve been told by Dell and other computer makers that you folks really dig huge laptops with legacy features. Hence, the Inspiron 15 7000 is among Dell’s most popular, so much so that are always deals available for the device that clings onto what Apple has long forgotten: SD cards and DVDs.
Of course, don't go expecting MacBook-like levels of performance here – not even close. But, if you still have a dear DVD collection, this may be the 15-inch laptop for you.
Below are the best deals we could muster on the Inspiron 15 in the UK, US and Australia. Note that most Inspiron 15 deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the version you want has the hardware you want inside, too.

The best Dell Inspiron 13 2-in-1 deals
Perhaps you want a smaller, lighter and more varied experience – like we would. In that case, this version of the Inspiron might be your scene.
It's slick, lightweight and offers several ways to use it – just like the XPS 13 2-in-1. Well, save for the immensely powerful hardware and beautiful screen. Though, for most folks, what's inside this hybrid laptop is just fine.
Below are the best deals we could muster on the Inspiron 13 2-in-1 in the UK, US and Australia. Note that most Inspiron 13 2-in-1 deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the version you want has the hardware you want inside, too.
Read the full review: Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1
The best Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming deals
For those seeking a gaming laptop without putting a dent in their life savings, the Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming might be your scene. It's essentially a souped-up version of the standard 15-incher with far stronger graphics.
Of course, don't go expecting Alienware 15-level performance here. But, what this Inspiron offers should be enough for fine 1080p gaming at moderate settings. So, it's no wonder why folks are interested in saving even more on it.
Below are the best deals we could muster on the Inspiron 15 Gaming in the UK, US and Australia. Note that most Inspiron 15 Gaming deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the version you want has the hardware you want inside, too.

The best Alienware 13 deals
Dell's Alienware brand of gaming laptops looks better than ever today, though sadly it seems to be pricier than ever as well. For example, the starting Alienware 13 model comes with an HD screen at 1,366 x 768 resolution.
Luckily the component options quickly scale up from there, but of course so does the pricing. With an absolutely beautiful OLED display on the table, we'll take whatever deal we can get.
Below are the best deals we could muster on the Alienware 13 in the UK, US and Australia. Note that most Alienware 13 deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the version you want has the hardware you want inside, too.
The best Alienware 15 deals
Those seeking the newest Nvidia graphics behind screens fine-tuned for gaming are well-treated by Dell’s Alienware brand. Notoriously pricey, any deal you can get on Alienware hardware is worth considering if you want a gaming laptop not just with powerful components but strong style and support.
The Alienware 15 simply expands upon Dell's fresh new design, bringing with it access to Nvidia's mid-tier GTX 1070 mobile graphics for even more power. This model also comes starting with an FHD (1,920 x 1,080) screen – phew!
Below are the best deals we could muster on the Alienware 15 in the UK, US and Australia. Note that most Alienware 15 deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the version you want has the hardware you want inside, too.
Now, these are the best laptops – bar none

14 d ago TechRadar :: The best cheap Apple Watch deals for April 2018
Read on TechRadar | Share | Tweet

Finding the best cheap Apple Watch deals is no easy task simply because this is the newest product category among Apple devices and the Apple Watch 3 version with LTE is is still new and expensive.
Our best tip for April 2018 is to ditch the LTE - as the standard Apple Watch 3 has all of the top features of the new watch without the expensive connection - or just go for the still-excellent Apple Watch 2 . There's a lot of money savings to be had.
Yes, the Apple Watch 3 is the best Apple Watch you can buy today; however, the refreshed Apple Watch Series 1 or 2 are just as good for most people. Make sure you pick wisely.
Here’s a list of the best Apple Watch deals for April 2018, from the first version of the Watch to the latest. We also threw in a few places to buy cheap Apple Watch bands a little more cheaply than you can pick them up from Apple.
The best Apple Watch bands in 2017
The new regular Apple Watch 3 and Apple Watch 3 LTE delivers a really minimal upgrade, unliked the new iPhone X. The latter version essentially just adds in connectivity to its latest wearable. This basic Series 3 model though can only be called an incremental upgrade over the Apple Watch 2.
If you're not that bothered about being connected wherever you are - or don't want to pay extra for the capability - you might want to look at the older Apple Watch Series 2 deals below and save yourself some money.
The Apple Watch 2 isn't being sold by Apple, but it's still being pushed around by various retailers for those who want the older, but very similar, Watch on the cheap.
It includes specs and features not available for the cheaper Apple Watch Series 1. This includes GPS tracking, a brighter screen and waterproof specs that allow you to wear it in the pool - which can also be found on the Watch 3.
All of that sounds great, until you see the expensive price tag, especially for the Ceramic Apple Watch 2.
Aluminum cases make for the cheapest Apple Watch 2, followed by stainless steel and ceramic. There’s no gold model any more, but more intricate Apple Watch bands do lead to higher prices. In other words, you have to shop smartly when picking out your Apple Watch 2 below - but it's a much better option for most when looking for the more sport-enabled Watch.
Read our full review: Apple Watch 2
Right - let's clear this up: there are two Nike+ editions of the Apple Watch. The first is the Nike+ Apple Watch Series 2, and the second the Nike+ Apple Watch Series 3.
Both are virtually identical to the 'standard' version of the Watch they're related to, apart from different (and really rather nice) rubberised straps that you can't easily buy separately and new watch faces.
Other than that, they don't really offer a lot more other than a stylistic option - and of course they're 'designed' to be use with the Nike app.
So if you're seeing the Nike+ Apple Watch for cheap, make sure it's not the Series 2 model... although that one is perfectly good enough in our eyes, and offers all the advantages minus the LTE connectivity.
Apple Watch deals at eBay: Nike Plus cheapest prices in the US Nike Plus cheapest prices in the UK Nike Plus cheapest prices in Australia
The Apple Watch Series 1 is actually the best Apple Watch for most people who aren’t all-star runners and avid swimmers, with most of the specs you need on a smartwatch.
This is a 'refreshed' Apple Watch compared to the original Apple Watch below, so it has a faster dual-core processor and better battery life as a result.
It runs all the same WatchOS 4 software, which brings some decent improvements and, best of all, the original Watch costs a lot less than the models above.
If you don’t need to track GPS runs and swim with it on, you’ll save money. The discounted Apple Watch Series 1 still comes in two sizes, 38mm and 42mm, but only has the more economical aluminum case and Sport band, although it's still good value despite the limited choice.
Apple Watch deals at eBay: Series 1 starting at $251 in the US Series 1 cheapest prices in the UK Series 1 cheapest prices in Australia
The cheapest Apple Watch on sale today is the original iWatch, the company’s first smartwatch that came out in April 2015.
No, the Apple Store doesn’t sell this price-reduced Apple Watch 1 anymore, but there are plenty of retailers still hawking the original Apple Watch at a discount.
However, we thoroughly recommend that you look at some of the other options unless the cost is really low, as most places aren't selling the first version of the Apple Watch - one that's rather outdated, don't forget - for a good enough price.
Apple Watch deals at eBay: Watch 1 in the US averaging $199 Watch 1 in the UK cheapest prices Watch 1 in Australia cheapest prices
Your Apple Watch literally isn’t complete without the best deals on Apple Watch bands. They make the geeky smartwatch stylish enough to show off to late adopters.
Straps in the US starting at $7.88 Straps in the UK starting at £5.27 Straps in Australia starting at AU$9.65
In fact, you’re going to want multiple cheap Apple Watch straps simply because more elegant bands are far from ideal for the gym. Vice versa, Sport Bands don’t cut it at the fancy dinner table.
Everyday in the news, we see new cheap Apple Watch bands trying to become the de facto alternative to the more expensive, official Apple Watch bands, and they’re usually just as good. Trust us, buying a trio of third-party, lookalike Apple Watch bands for the price of one official strap is a relief after paying so much for the smartwatch itself. Plus, you'll want to save up for the eventually Apple Watch 3.

12 d ago TechRadar :: The best Xbox One X bundles and deals in April 2018: where to buy the 4K Xbox
Read on TechRadar | Share | Tweet

So you're looking for an Xbox One X bundle? You're in luck as we've tracked down the latest prices for you. We had to dig pretty hard, but we've also found some rare deals with discounted games too.
After years of waiting, Microsoft finally officially unveiled the Xbox One X at E3 2017. Formerly known as Project Scorpio, this is the full 4K HDR upgrade Xbox One owners have been waiting for.
So where can you buy an Xbox One X? Fear not 4K-hungry gamers, we've listed the links below for a reliable collection of UK and US retailers. First up, we've given a shout out to stores that have standalone console stock available to order, followed by a selection of the best-looking Xbox One X bundles with extra games included. This week we've seen the US finally get bundles that include a free game (from a great list too) while in the UK there are even more bundles to choose from with multiple games thrown in for free, or even an extra controller if you'd prefer. Full details on all of these Xbox One bundles can be found below.
If you're after information on the Australian deals, head over to our Australian page .
Xbox One X deals (USA) Xbox One X $499 @ Walmart Xbox One X $499.99 @ Amazon Xbox One X $499.99 @ Microsoft Xbox One X bundles @ GameStop Xbox One X $499 @ Newegg Xbox One X deals (UK) Xbox One X £429.99 @ Smyths Xbox One X £416.99 @ Amazon Xbox One X £449.99 @ Microsoft Xbox One X £449.95 @ John Lewis Xbox One X £449.99 @ Very Xbox One X £449 @ Tesco Xbox One X £439.99 + bundles @ Game Xbox One X £449 @ AO Xbox One X bundles (USA)
Last week's Monster Hunter World bundle has been snapped up, once again leaving the US Xbox One X bundle scene in a dire state. Sure there are some 'bundles' out there, but we're going to avoid showing you ones where they cost more than buying the games separately on their own.
Xbox Box One X bundles (UK) What is the Xbox One X price?
You might want to sit down for this one. The Xbox One X costs $499 in the US. UK gamers can expect to get their currency converters in a twist again, as you're paying £449 instead of the direct conversion of around £390. Naturally, these prices don't include any games, unless a retailer is feeling generous.
Why should I buy an Xbox One X?
Just to be clear, this is not what you'd call a 'next-gen' console. Instead it's a powerful upgrade over the current Xbox One lineup. To simplify things, it's akin to Sony's PS4 Pro. Both consoles are aimed at gamers with a 4K HDR TV who want the best graphical performance possible on their favored console. There will be modest performance boosts on non-4K TVs too, but you're kind of missing the point without a 4K HDR TV.
As things stand the Xbox One X will play all Xbox One games and we're not expecting to see any games released exclusively for the Xbox One X (or so we've been told), so there's certainly no reason to throw away your Xbox One S yet.
The Xbox One X is the most powerful console ever made though, even outshining some of the specs of the PS4 Pro. But given the huge asking price, you'd hope as much.
Where can I buy an Xbox One X?
Most of the usual big name retailers are stocking the Xbox One X. Prices this close to launch are all very similar for now, but as we move forwards, we'll start to see stores chipping away at the price to try to get an edge over the competition.
Keep an eye on the highlighted Xbox One X bundles above and our comparison chart, which we'll keep up to date on the latest prices for the Xbox One X on its own. So feel free to bookmark us and check in again soon to see if we've found the deal that's right for you. Fingers crossed the bundles get better soon, especially in the US where we're not seeing massive software discounts so far.
What is the Xbox One X release date?
It's here now! The Xbox One X came out on November 7 2017. That was a worldwide release date too. It's a solid time of year to cash in on the Christmas shopping season.
Will there be Xbox One X deals are Christmas?
We wouldn't expect many (if any) discounts on the hardware to be honest. At best you might get a game or two thrown in for free or cheaper than buying them separately.
If the Xbox One X is in short supply though, don't expect retailers to want to discount anything. It's more likely they'll add multiple games to a bundle and sell it at full RRP. Don't believe us? Have you tried to find a decent Nintendo Switch deal lately? If you're after a massive bargain, we expect Sony to be tearing the price of the PS4 Pro deals to shreds to tempt gamers over to the blue team of 4K gaming.
What if I don't care about 4K or want to save money?
The standard Xbox One S is a fantastic games console and you'll easily be able to get one with a few games for around $250/£250 or less. There are cheap deals all year round on our Xbox One deals and PS4 deals pages.
Only kidding. I want 4K HDR in my face right now.
4K TVs with HDR are nowhere near as expensive as you'd think. The prices have come down much faster than the original HD TVs, so you can get a decent model for a low price. Hell we've seen some nice ones for less than the price of the Xbox One X itself (what a ridiculous world we live in). For the best of the best, take a look at our best TV article. UK gamers, we've also rounded up the best cheap 4K TV deals too.
How big is the hard drive in the Xbox One X?
For now, the only option available is the 1TB option, that's 1000GB of storage. There are no official plans for larger versions, but we wouldn't be surprised to see these come along in 2018.
With some 4K-friendly update patches to games coming in at over 100GB, we certainly wouldn't hold out for a cheaper 500GB Xbox One X, as it'd be a bit pointless to be honest.
We think gamers are going to fill up the 1TB Xbox One pretty soon. Thankfully the Xbox One X is compatible with external hard drives using USB 3.0. So if you need some extra storage, check out our list of the best external hard drives .

13 d ago TechRadar :: The best Dell XPS 13 and 15 deals in April 2018
Read on TechRadar | Share | Tweet

If the Dell XPS 15 is large and in charge, wielding discrete graphics and a classic design that won’t draw any unwanted peepers, the Dell XPS 13 is its smaller, yet sophisticated younger sibling. Unfortunately, it ain’t easy finding these two winning notebooks at a price lower than market value.
That’s why we’ve gone out of our way to comb through the hottest deals on both the Dell XPS 13 and 15. In our rundown of the best Dell XPS 13 and 15 deals, we’ve explored all the major retailers for discounts, including Amazon, Newegg and eBay. We’ve even gone as far as to consider the 2-in-1 version of the Dell XPS 13 in our search, which other sites tend to avoid.
Though you may be ready to scarf down any Dell XPS 13 or Dell XPS 15 deals that come your way, chances are you should get a second opinion. As such, follow along as we pore through the mire of the internet for you, in turn (hopefully) saving you from burning too big a hole in your wallet for any one machine in this posh line of laptops.
The best Dell XPS 13 deals
As does any other laptop maker with its leading machine, Dell actually runs deals on its XPS 13 rather often … just not as large of ones or as frequently as, say, its mid-range Inspiron lineup.
Being Dell's most lusted-after laptop, it makes sense. With up to a 13.3-inch, 3K IPS touchscreen inside an 11-inch aluminum frame, Intel's latest Core i processors as well as Thunderbolt 3 and an SD card slot, the XPS 13 is ready for all sorts of use in work and play.
Below you'll find the best deals we could find on the XPS 13 in the UK, US and Australia. Just note that most XPS 13 deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the model you want has the parts you want inside, too.

The best Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 deals
For those who crave the unwavering versatility of a 2-in-1 notebook, turn your head to the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1. This is a laptop that, although it bears the limitations of a 1.3GHz Y-series Intel Core i7 processor, is quite stunning in its look and its feel.
For starters, the backlit keyboard and glass-coated trackpad are natural to the touch. And don’t let the 1,920 x 1,080 FHD screen resolution bring you down; this InfinityEdge display might not seem like much on paper, but in person, it’s exquisite. That goes without mentioning the webcam, which is now centered as opposed to being offset to the left.
Below are the best deals we could muster on the XPS 13 2-in-1 in the UK, US and Australia. We'll say it again: note that most XPS 13 2-in-1 deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the version you want has the hardware you want inside, too.
Read the full review: Dell XPS 13 2-in-1
The best Dell XPS 15 deals
The XPS 15 is, frankly, a simply larger XPS 13. However, that extra space inside the 14-inch frame (fitting a 15.6-inch version of that beautiful screen) allows for Nvidia's GTX 1050 mobile graphics processor.
All else equal, this makes the XPS 15 even more suitable for professionals and players alike, though only considerably less portable. And, of course, a bigger screen asks for a heftier price tag.
Below are the best deals we could muster on the XPS 13 in the UK, US and Australia. We'll say it again: note that most XPS 15 deals listed are with entry-level specs, so check to make sure whether the version you want has the hardware you want inside, too.

A LOT.

You don't have to pay hundreds of pounds for a tablet these days, and there are a number of top cheap tablets available.
[Update: 2018 will likely bring us an updated fleet of Amazon's low-cost slates, alongside a handful of Android tablets from some of the main players. Anyone hoping for a low-cost iPad will need to keep their fingers crossed Apple launches a new iPad Mini and as a result slashes the price of the iPad Mini 4 (currently £419).]
It's a strange time for cheap tablets, and even tablets in general. Exciting releases are few and far between these days, and the most fascinating tech is restricted to the top end of the market.
The best tablet in the world is the new iPad Pro , and that will set you back an awful lot of cash. Best budget tablet it is not.
In fact, none of Apple's current fleet of slates manage to break the £250, but if it's iPads you desire you'll want to check out our best iPad roundup.
All hope is not lost though, and we've got the list of the best cheap tablets you can buy right now below - but let's make one thing clear. There aren't many to choose from.
It's slim pickings for anyone looking to pick up a cheap tablet these days as the market for low-cost slates has somewhat fallen away, but the ones below offer excellent value for money.
There could very well be a new contender in our best cheap tablet line up soon though, after we got hands on with the Alcatel 1T at MWC 2018 .

The Huawei MediaPad M3 8.0 is the best cheap tablet right now, combining an excellent screen, a whole heap of power and slick Android interface in a slate that offers great value for money.
One of the best things about the MediaPad M3 is its slim, light aluminium frame that looks and feels good while being seriously practical.
The screen is sharp, and has colour modes that provide both more natural and saturated tones, while the speakers are another high point, delivering impressive volume for a tablet this slim.

In a sea of slates and smartphones, crafting a device that has enough personality to stand out and enough quality to be worth caring about is a difficult proposition.
With the Tab 4 8 Plus, Lenovo has succeeded in producing something with a flavor of its own, and something that makes the mid-range Android tablet market worth attention once again.
If you already have an Android device, commute regularly and want something a little nicer than an Amazon tablet, this is the obvious next step.

If you have an Amazon Prime membership and you want a big screen tablet for watching movies and TV, reading, and a spot of gaming, the Fire HD 10 is a great option. If you also have a limited budget, then it’s your best option.
It's a great value package for a 10-inch screen tablet. It does have obvious weaknesses, like the plastic design and useless cameras, but they’re understandable in a tablet at this price.

The Amazon HD 6 may be showing its age, but it's still a top-notch tablet for the money, which is why it features so highly in our best budget tablet list.
It's no tablet king, but it does what it sets out to well. Its crazy low price tag means it's perfect to hand off to the kids without the fear that they're wielding an expensive bit of kit around.
It may be too small for some, and the cameras aren't up to much, but the Fire HD 6 gives you the core tablet experience for not very much outlay, making it a budget tablet worth buying.

If you're in the market for a low cost tablet with up to date specs then the new Amazon Fire HD 8 and HD 10 deliver.
They won't bless you with a stunning display, sultry design or slick performance - but they will give you enough grunt under the hood to play even the most demanding of games.
The heavily modified Android interface (known as Fire OS) may not be to everyone's liking, but for less tech savvy users it's arguably less cluttered and easier to use.

40 d ago TechRadar :: The best PS4 bundles and deals in March 2018
Read on TechRadar | Share | Tweet

PS4 bundles and deals have proved enormously popular in recent times with Sony opening up a big lead over its rivals. If you're ready to get involved and see why the PS4 is so popular, we're here to help. So sit back and let us bring the very best PS4 prices to you right here. Looking to buy in the UK or Australia instead? You'll want to take a look at our UK page page or Australian page then.
First up, we'll show you the best prices for standalone PS4 Slim consoles. Although, you can often get better value by opting for a PS4 console bundle with a game or two which proves cheaper than buying them separately. We've rounded up the best of those PS4 bundles too. We generally no longer roundup the best prices on the older chunkier PS4 nowadays as most retailers seem to be no longer stocking it. And when we do see stock, it tends to be more expensive than the new and improved PS4 Slim.
Last but not least, there's a list of the latest prices for the 4K and HDR-sporting PS4 Pro along with any decent bundle deals we've found to save you some extra money. This week is especially good if you've had your eye on one as pre-orders have just gone live for a specially-designed Limited Edition God of War PS4 Pro console along with a copy of the game.
The best PS4 deals
Slimmer, quieter, smaller
The new PS4 Slim models are out now from around $300 (for the 500GB version) and has replaced the original PS4 on production lines. The console itself is smaller, lighter and more power efficient and generally much cheaper than the older PS4 now, so you're not paying extra for the refined tech. Ideally, you should expect to get at least one game too if you're paying $300 nowadays. So do bear that in mind before buying a console on its own at that price as there's probably a better option for you - hopefully on this page!
The best PS4 bundles
You'll often find that the most attractive way to buy a console is in a bundle with extra hardware or extra games. These are the best PS4 bundle deals currently available in the USA.
The best PS4 Pro deals this week:
Are you ready for 4K gaming and Netflix?
Essentially, the PS4 Pro is an upgrade of the current PS4, rather than a 'next-gen' console. The keywords to take in from the PS4 Pro are 4K and HDR. The new machine will allow game developers to include 4K resolution and High Dynamic Range options in their games, so expect the likes of Uncharted 4, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Days Gone, Horizon: Zero Dawn and more to look even better on a HDR-enabled 4K TV. You'll also be able to stream 4K content from Netflix and Amazon.
If you're buying a PS4, you'll probably need a cheap PlayStation Plus deal too. PlayStation Plus (aka PS Plus or PS+) allows you to play PS4 games online, along with access to the Instant Game Collection, a bunch of free games for PS4, PS3 and Vita each month. The default price for a year is $60. We've shopped around for you though and found a range of prices in our PlayStation Plus deals guide.

It may be three years old, but the iPhone 6 has aged admirably. And the mature age also means the prices are fantastic. We've sorted through the finest iPhone 6 deals from EE, O2, Vodafone and Three to narrow down the best five plans available today.
Unlike more recent entries in the iPhone ouevre, Apple made a genuine leap forward from the iPhone 5S with its successor.
A LOT.

It doesn't take a genius to work out why you've landed on this page, dear reader. You fancy a new iPhone, but the prices you've seen for the iPhone 8 have given you a fright and got you searching around for something a little cheaper. Grabbing an iPhone 6S deal is the obvious solution.

How do I keep my old number?
Thankfully, moving your familiar old mobile number to your shiny new Samsung is relatively painless.  If you've ever heard of a PAC code, this is when you need to use it.
All you need to do is give your old network a call. They're obliged to give you a PAC - or Porting Authorisation Code - straight away. Once you have it, simply give your new network a call and they'll do the rest...your number will work on your new phone the following working day.
To save you scrabbling around for the number to call to obtain your PAC code, check the list below for the digits you'll need to contact the major networks:
EE 07953 966 250O2 0344 8090202Vodafone 03333 040 191Three 0333 300 3333ID 0333 003 7777GiffGaff 43431 from your handsetVirgin 0345 6000 789BT 0800 800 150Tesco 0345 301 4455Sky 03300 412 524Asda 0800 079 2732
The only slight chink is if you want to snap up one of the fantastic deals on our comparison chart, but it's on your existing network. When that happens, your network won't release a PAC code and you'll be forced to take a new phone number.
At least you would have, if it wasn't for this clever (if convoluted) work around. You have to order a free pay-as-you-go SIM from another network. Once you have it, you can tell your old network that you're moving and they'll give you that precious PAC. Then, once your number is registered to the substitute network, simply get another PAC code from them. Take that to your old network, and they'll move your number to your new contract. Simple - kind of!
What's the best mobile network?
EE, O2, Vodafone and Three hold the rankings as the big four networks in the UK, and you'll see that they dominate our above comparison chart. Who's offering the best price can vary from phone to phone, and even day to day, so how do you choose between them?
If you want fast and furious 4G, then your choice has to be EE. Its speeds are around 50% faster than the other major networks, which is really noticeable if you like watching films or football on the move. Talking of sport, EE gives you three free months of BT Sport when you sign up, as well as six months of Apple Music. The EE coverage checker will confirm how strong it is where you live.
O2's best claim for your contract is with its Priority rewards - from cheap weekly lunch deals and pre-order privileges on gig tickets, to ad-hoc discounts and competitions. Plus, they have 1000s of wifi hotspots in shops and cafes that you can connect to for free and save your precious data. Use the O2 coverage checker to see whether you'll be able to access 4G.
Vodafone seems to have been around since mobile phones were cumbersome bricks, but they remain a major player. And its Wuntu app means some tasty discounts and freebies as well. Three's 4G coverage isn't as strong as the other networks though - check whether your postcode is covered with the Three coverage checker .
Should I go SIM only?
A short, sharp stab of pain to your wallet could save you pounds in the long run if you consider getting the handset and contract separately. You can now get a brand new Galaxy S7 Edge for around £550. If you combine that with one of our best SIM only deals , you could end up saving money over the course of two years. We've seen some SIMs that cost only £5 a month. While others give you the flexibility of 12 month or even 30 day rolling contracts - ultimate flexibility!
How much data do I need?
When different tariffs vary by just a few pounds a month here and there, It might be tempting to just go for as much data as you can afford. But it's worth really thinking about how much data you actually need - it could save you a stack of cash in the long run!
A good start is to check your phone to see how much data you've been using to date, and whether you have the tendency to use more than your current allowance every month. If you still can't decide, the below guidelines should help:
1GB The bare minimum of data that you can bag on your plan. If you're scarcely away from wi-fi, then this cheap option may just suit. But you'll be surprised how much checking Google Maps and Facebook can use when you're out and about - so choose wisely.2-3GB If your daily commute consists of social media and emails and you can't get through a Saturday out of the house without checking the football scores, a bit of extra data is probably advisable.4-8GB Now we're getting into the territory of Spotify and Apple Music lovers. We'd suggest opting for this more generous wedge of data if you want tunes on tap without the nuisance of data limits.10-16GB This should be a big enough allowance for most users. It's stacks of data for streaming music, downloading podcasts and watching social media videos.20-30GB If your phone is your entertainment hub, then definitely consider a big data pan. You'll be able to watch a few Netflix videos a month without due concern, as well as your music and gaming needs.Unlimited Three has changed the face of phone contracts when it started offering unlimited data . Only you can decide whether you really need infinite data - just be prepared to pay for it. Do I need unlimited calls and texts?
Most deals these days automatically come with unlimited calls and texts, so you don't have to worry your head about cutting calls short and waiting until the next month to reply to that text! Some cheaper plans still do apply a limit however - check your last few bills to make sure that your average usage won't exceed them.
Even if you do like a natter but your dream deal restricts minutes, there are ways around this. Popular apps like WhatsApp, Skype and Hangouts let you make as many calls and texts as you like, using wi-fi or 3G/4G.
What Galaxy S7 Edge colours are available?
Samsung is spoiling you - it has put out six colour variants of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, so you should be able to get your hands on one that suits you. You can choose from Black, Gold, White, Silver, Pink or, our particular favourite, Blue Coral.
What operating system does the Galaxy S7 Edge run?
The Galaxy S7 Edge originally shipped with Android 6 Marshmallow, but is now upgradable to 7.0 Nougat. As well as improved apps for VR, a quicker settings menu and Doze Mode 2.0, the additional multi-window support is perfect for a phone with a screen the size of the Edge's. Samsung tends to roll out the latest iteration of Android to its flagship phones around five or six months after its initial release. So don't expect to get Android 8 on your S7 Edge until early 2018.
What contract length should I get?
You don't have a lot of choice here. Contract lengths on all mobiles pretty much exclusively last 24 months. Unless you want to buy the handset and get a SIM only deal (see more above), then you'll have to commit to the full two years.
Should I consider getting a refurbished Galaxy S7 Edge?
We can see why you might be put off buying a refurbished Galaxy. When you're making this kind of commitment in terms of time and money, you want to know that nobody else has had their grubby little mitts on it. But it's most likely that 'refurbished' means that the previous owner simply changed their mind about the phone soon after buying it, so it's still practically brand new - and the potential savings can be substantial!.
If you do spy an unbelievable deal on a refurbed phone, the main thing to make sure of is the warranty. Double check that you are properly covered for a decent length of time. A year's warranty is preferable.
How does TechRadar make money from these deals?
If you buy a phone after visiting this page, TechRadar will be paid a small commission by the network or reseller you buy from. This money is paid by the site you buy from and thus does not affect the amount you pay for your phone contract. If you go direct to the site you buy from, you would pay the same amount.
While some sites out there will be paid larger fees for pushing people to specific deals that aren't necessarily the cheapest, TechRadar will always find you the absolute best value. Trust and integrity is important to us, so if you ever think we're not displaying the very best deals let us know.
Who are the resellers TechRadar feature?
Never heard of the likes of Mobiles.co.uk , Affordable Mobiles or Mobile Phones Direct ? You're not alone - they're not necessarily household names and you'd only likely encounter them every couple of years when you buy a new mobile.
But as well as being completely trustworthy - we wouldn't stake our reputation on companies that would give you the run around - they also tend to be a lot cheaper than getting your phone directly from the networks.
